Report comes out today that Deron Williams continuing with the Nets is contingent on their ability to resign Dwight Howard.

Let's say Dwight gets traded to a team that won' have cap room in the summer and sign an extension.

Would you consider trading Rondo for D Will?

Pro's

- I think D Will is an obvious upgrade over Rondo.
- D Will is more likely to attract a secondary star than Rondo
- If D Will walks our books are wide open, and we avoid a situation like Philly's had with Iguodala over the past years (great player, but he's not really a number one guy and his salary is too high for a team that can't compete)

Con's

-Russell Westbrook has shown us that Rondo's on a really, really good contract
-Rondo is a young, all star PG and is still one of the best in the league
-While stats might not reflect change in his jumper, I'm impressed with the improvement in his form and am starting to consider that he could statistically improve in he fture.

No, Williams will just leave at the end of the season. If you want to dump Rondo you can just trade him for assets that aren't going to leave in one year, or amnesty him for nothing.

Why would we trade one of the best if not the best defensive PG for Deron Williams? I don't get it, why should anyone consider a Rondo trade for an other PG.

Because there are other, albeit few, better point guards out there?

how about we wait until D-Will becomes a free agent and then go after him to play along side rondo???? kinda like chris paul and billups, then you would have rondo and D-Will...now thats tough!!!!

Absolutly, but i dont think Williams is one of these few better pointgaurds. Thats is of course my opinion but i would Rondo only trade for Rose and Paul.

Deron Williams is the best point guard in the league.
