For those who like the deal but don't think New York would go for it, would you consider adding on a draft pick or two to make it happen?

Honestly, I think you're at least two first round picks away from New York considering this trade, and even then I think they say 'no.'

My scenario involves the Knicks braintrust deciding that Amare is toast and they need to move him before a prospective trading partner comes to that conclusion.  It also relies on Knicks management being wrong.

No -- (1) too scared of Amare's health and his uninsured contract. Phoenix thought he only had 2-3 years left in him when he was a FA a year ago before his body broke down. Too large a risk. (2) Also, vastly overpaid and overrated.

I'm not convinced this is a good idea, but I definitely like it way more than making a similar deal for someone like Rudy Gay.
I would rather go after Rudy Gay but only if I can trade Paul Pierce to do it. Due to cap flexibility, I don't want both player's contracts on the books together.

Actually, the same holds true for Amare. More interested in this deal if it's Pierce that is heading to NY. An Amare + Rondo combo would be very attractive to a max free agent (say Dwight Howard). That would be a risk I'd be willing to take despite Amare's dodgy health.

I would trade Rondo, Ray and KG for Amar'e and Tony Douglas. Amar'e is a fantastic player and better than anyone we have now

And for those that bash and criticize any player not wearing a Celtics jersey, please take off the green colored glasses.

I would do that trade as long as it lands us Deron Williams or a first round pick to grab a good PG caust Douglas is not a starting PG in this league.. but if it could give us cap to get Dwight or Deron i would do it very fast.
