This is my first time posting, but I believe these trades would make sense for each team.

Boston trades KG and Ray Allen to Atlanta for Josh Smith and Joe Johnson.

Boston trades Paul Pierce and one or both of our 2012 1st round picks to Memphis for Rudy Gay.

I believe Atlanta agrees with this because of the fact we would take on Joe Johnsons contract.  They will clear plenty of cap space. I know its a big contract to take on, but there are no big free agents to spend our money on anyway (Dwight and Deron not coming).

I believed Memphis might bite with the inclusion of both our 2012 1st rounders. I dont see Memphis agreeing for just Pierce straight up, so maybe the picks sweeten the deal.  Gives them championship experience and does not affect them competing.

Our starting roster would be:

pg-rondo
sg-joe johnson
sf-rudy gay
pf-josh smith
c-oneal (sign free agent c with mle in offseason maybe Jason Thompson)

we will be younger, more athletic, good d and i believe a team that gives another 5 year window.  What do you think?

I don't see why Memphis makes the trade.

I think that Atlanta trade is one of those trades that makes us better, but we'd be too tied up in cap to become anything more than a lesser version of what the Hawks are now. And that's while Joe Johnson has something left in the tank, can't imagine having him on the books at the end of his contract.

Next year we have capspace so teams could dump salaries on us if we're willing to take it, why should we go over the cap by trading for these players ?

This screws the rebuilding, better to suck a couple of years including this year then make a decent team through the draft and signing better free agents.

With Memphis I guess I feel with the inclusion of our 2 1st rounders that Memphis might actually think about it.  Pierce can still help them along with being able to add another sf through draft if they wanted too.

I still think joe johnson has plenty left in the tank and he probably won't have to rely on him as much as the hawks do with josh smith and rudy gay on the team.  I agree its tough to swallow that contract.

There are no big time free agents availabe and this team would be a contending team for the next few years.  We would be using our cap anyway to sign big time free agents if there were any available. In this case we trade for big time players instead and still continue to compete.

WAIT!!!

So, ATL, who is currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference!, trades its two BEST players (who they have locked up beyond this season) for two aging veterans whose deals expire at the end of the season????????????

Why in the world would ATL make this trade?  You're making a huge assumption that ATL wants to clear space and rebuild, considering they're 2nd in the Eastern Conference (and winning games w/o their starting C).

WOW.

Funny I did this in 2k11 except with the grizzlies trading ZBo and mayo for JJ and SMith. Similar lineup with

Conley, JJ, Gay, Smith, and Gasol

where as in real life for us it would be:

Rondo, JJ, Gay, Smith, and JO

I don't see ATL trading JJ AND Smith. With Hortford out, it would be a real punch in the gut. And Memphis, imo, would trade Gay last out of its core guys (gasol and conley would go first).

Rather keep ray around even for the bench over JJ.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I think i mentioned almost exactly what you said in another thread minus Joe Johnson lol...

I also said that by being younger, and Josh Smith being friends with Dwight, can probably make Dwight consider us
