Its going to take multiple trades with multiple teams to trade the Big Three

  Moving these guys is going to be tough. Why you think Danny was trying to move Rondo in the beginning of the season in stead of every one else?

  And Danny has to be smart about it. If he's going to trade them, he needs to send the to a contender to be fair.

  Why should he be fair? To show he respects players. Would you want t go to a team that if things aren't looking good you'd get shipped to the Bucks, or Wizards for mid level players? Probably not. It shows a player that he will build a good team and if things go south he will get you to a contending team if you play your heart out for multiple years. He messed up with Perk(even though I think in the long run it would have been a good move) and players don't want to be trade fodder.

  KG's contract is tough. Pierce isn't too bad, and Rays is even easier to move. But to get them to a contending team is tough because most of them don't have the pieces to move these contracts or the cap space.

  Other teams that are young, maybe too young need to get in the mix. The contending teams will send there mid level, youngish good players, to the really bad teams.
   
  The C's send the three to which ever contending team it works out for, and the young bad team gets some youngish vets to help bring along the rest of the young players. Every one would have to throw a first round pick to just for fairness.

So what teams would want the Big Three??

 I could see Ray going to the Bulls, Pierce going to the Clips, KG is a tough one. Maybe Dallas? Portland?


  I don't like the fact that people in the starting line up will be moving, but hopfully we get some thing at least fun to watch out of it.

  Any suggestions of bad teams that would be up for some multiple trades???

He was trying to move Rondo because he is the only guy on the squad who could fetch a franchise caliber player.

Or he could just decide not to move them, since two of the big three come off the books this summer.

At this point, the Celtics are better off hanging on to the "not anymore" Big Three, or for that matter, anybody else.

Let's not try to trade just for the sake of trading. Cap space for next year is tremendous, provided we don't trade for someone who's tied up into a long term deal (unless it's reasonable). Looking at the way things right now, we might end up in the lottery, and with that cap room, we have a lot more room to get some talent.

I agree with your emotions, but also think that a few years of pierce on a bad team is not doing anyone any good, pierce included.

If pierce to LA means the celtics are contenders sooner, I will hold my nose and agree.

The Lakers are not gonna give up Gasol or Bynum, not for Pierce. Outside of Gasol, Bynum & Kobe, LA has absolutely nothing worth trading for.

Why not? He could be part of the bridge to the next title teams and retire a Celtic. He's already won a title so it's not a Karl Marlone situation where he's looking to win one before he retires. He's made well over $100 million so he's set there. He has no reason to move on.

trading for young role players like Courtney lee & ronnie brewer & asik,Jason Thompson etc is not a bad idea either. that can be a solid bench for the next few years to come and signing two star potential players in free agency would make it even better.

As someone else said...seeing dirk kobe and duncan retire with their original teams and not peirce would leave a bad taste in my mouth...plus theres value in having a solid veteran presence in the lockerroom for a young team

Here's one that could realistically go down.

Ray Allen, J O'Neal, and Avery Bradley to the Bulls
CJ Watson, Ronnie Brewer, Omer Asik, and Kyle Korver to the C's

Bulls do this because a still have a serviceable backup Center in O'Neal, backup PG in Bradley, and pickup a better SG than Hamilton is. Ray and JO's salaries are off the books this year, and Avery is a young prospect but could be let go the following if he doesn't show enough to warrant picking up his deal.

Boston does this because it gives us a solid young Center prospect in Asik, a good SG in Brewer, and a solid backup for Rondo in Watson. Korver can sit outside and knock down the shot as well. None of them are signed past next season, so we will have the ability to keep flexible and not get saddled with bad contracts. We can see if Brewer, Watson, or Asik can be pieces to the puzzle.

We have to plan on the fact that we realistically are not going to get one of the big name free agents, so collecting a couple role players and trying to draft well is about all we have at this point!
