First off I would hate to see ray go.

He is the hardest working of the big three and is a great role model in the community.

I also dont like the idea of making LA clips better as it hurts our draft pick.

With that being said here is my trade proposal

Ray to the clippers

Foye + Gnomes + Bledsoe to Celtics

Move Bledsoe to a team like Dallas, Phoenix, or Toronto for a 1st this year, any team in need of a young pg isnt likely to find one in this draft and would likey take this trade.

Clippers add a great shooter and a proven veteran. He is a perfect fit next to blake and paul.

Gnomes? haha!

I like Gomes & Foye is good off the bench, but the trade leaves us with no starting SG (unless we run with Pierce & Pietrus as starters)

This would be a rebuilding trade. We would move piertus to the starting spot and obviously take another step down as a team but gain another draft pick.

Gnomes would be a 1.5 year player who is a sloid veteran off the bench and foye is a FA.

Foye stinks and Gnomes (his official new nickname) is a career back up..who we already had and let walk.  Bledsoe may be good.  Maybe.  But isn't worth dealing Ray's expiring deal.  The future cap room is worth more.

Funny, I just put this trade together in the trade machine..you beat me to it.

I like it, and I think the Clips would do it. They are in win now mode. Ray brings a veteran presence and is a huge upgrade over Bledsoe (this season anyway).

Foye and Gomes are throw-ins with a short term commitment, so who cares about them.

Bledsoe is the wild card. Once he comes back from injury, he could try out as a backup PG/SG. If he works out, great. He's cheap for a couple more years and can help "bridge" to the next era.

If not, no harm no foul, he's a highly tradeable asset to have. No brainer deal for both sides.

I don't see it.  What do we actually gain in the deal?  It's clear we lose somthing...trying to see the gain and not able.

I agree.  All we'd get is a clogged cap and a backup PG who stands no chance of ever starting for this team (unless Rondo is traded.)

what we gain is a trad-able asset. Gomes has this season and next season and then he is off the books so its not like his contract will kill us. Bledsoe had a solid rookie season and has been hurt this year. I would think a team looking for a young pg (back up for nash?) would offer a 1st round pick for him.

How do we get a clogged cap? Foye comes off the books this year, Gomes next year (at a reasonable cost), and Bledsoe is on a rookie contract for 2 more years after this one.

I don't understand your logic at all. Bledsoe is a young, cheap, tradeable asset. Ainge should be acquiring these types of players.

Not a good return for Ray, and LA's backcourt would be too crowded (CP3, Billups, Mo Williams and Ray: too many guys who deserve big minutes).

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I would think that the Clips would want to move Williams if they are getting Ray. Not enough minutes for Paul, Billups, Ray and Williams.

You're right. But it's crowded with Bledsoe as well. The Clips could trade Billups or Williams to make room.

I just think they could use someone like Ray as a veteran presence.
