I will wait to see how he plays when there are real NBA level talent at SG and SF on his team.

I will wait to see for Jajuan earns his opportunity to play.  He is only behind KG and Bass.

Quote
He has scored at least 15 points in eight out of the 13 games he has appeared in this season. Brooks has been the Nets' most consistent scorer. He has been the playmaker who they have been missing since the departure of Vince Carter after the 2008-09 season.

I know we have discussed the Brooks-Jajuan comparisons a million times but I need to get away from all these crazy Paul Pierce trade talk!
And I still can't get over the fact that we could have had the next Jamal Crawford or even a Paul Pierce but instead got an undersized Marcus Camby.. You all can make arguments about playing time but Brooks is an NBA-caliber scorer who can improve defensively while Jajuan will always be someone who's too slow to be a SF, too thin to be a power forward, and too small to be a center.. But at least I'm happy for Mr. Brooks that his talents are not being wasted..

You think Brooks can improve but see Johnson as destined for below the line mediocrity due to his body?

Since when has being 21 years old, skinny, and 6'10 been a handicap?

He needs playing time, and just time in general. Big guys take time, and beyond the speed of the NBA its the strength they have to adjust to.

Look, you can make the point that Brooks is putting up numbers on a bad team but it is looking like he can certainly score. He also rebounds real well as well.

If JJJ could play, he would be playing. KG has been awful. If you are not a homer, you can admit this. The fact JJJ was a senior and still can not get off the pine is bad news.

Looks like Ainge blew another draft. He has not drafted well in at least FOUR YEARS.

You might be right. I'll let you know in a couple of seasons.

You don't bench KG for a rookie at this point.

He has been terrible for KG.

  • Rondo = Good
I was really hoping this was a thread about Mel's great acting career and not Marshon.

The kids a rookie and he has the green light.  I'll reserve any praise or criticism until I see that he is more than another Derozen or Kevin Martin.  It takes a special player and alot of women to be a Kobe.
Lol :)

Another DeRozan or Kevin Martin would be pretty valuable for a late 1st round pick.

Honestly, Brooks can score really well but I think he ends up being Ricky Davis redux.

The main reason I'm disappointed is Brooks was on top of all scout's lists of best availables when our selection came up.  Normally you are supposed to draft the best avaiable player, even if it doesn't fill or target a specific need.  However, in our case it did target a need; we haven't had a reliable Ray backup since he's been here.

Nah not as athletic rebounds better defends better and has a better shot selection and not as much of an attitude. Brooks looks like a natural right now but I wanna see Jujuan get more time to see wat he can do cuz rite now it looks like Danny blew it

You're short selling Ricky Davis's Cleveland years hard right there. The man can create rebounds.

Brooks is a rookie getting a lot of minutes and putting up numbers for an awful Nets team.  He would NOT get the same opportunity to play here and you should probably wait longer than 15 games to decide hiw worth.

Didn't ainge say he was drafting best player available? I don't think you should ever draft for need. Ever

Bass has been playing well in front of him too and has more experience. To declare either JJJ or Brooks a boom or bust is to soon. Lets see more of them before we decide anything.

Nah on the low Ricky was one of my favorite players he averaged 20 5 and 5 in Cleveland 1 year he was  good but Brooks will prolly have a better career
