Danny: I didn't underestimate what Kendrick Perkins meant to this team. The problems last year had nothing to do with Kendrick Perkins not being here.
this is the one that worries me.

I don't think Danny fully understands how important it is to have a legit center for this team to function properly. JO is not enough. plus, if he gets injured the cupboards are bare...

the problem last year wasn't specifically Perk not being there but it certainly contributed to us not having a center who could defend the position.

I think Danny needs to listen the things he himself said. he told us that he traded Perk because he expected Shaq back...so when Shaq did not come back, not having Perk definitely had something to do with the team's struggles.

I'd disagree. This is becoming a guard league big time, with all the rule changes. We needed more talented swingmen to beat Miami last year, not centers. Perk would have played 10 mpg, tops, given how they call the games and how Miami attacks the rim.

The biggest problem (and which Danny regrets) was Tony Allen leaving. He was the one that could actually have made a difference against Wade and LeBron. Perk couldn't (at least not at 60 percent), and Green couldn't.

I did not hear the interview, but I love the fact that he said this "The players came in unprepared." I love GM's that put the blame where it belongs.

Doc was pretty straightforward about that this morning as well.  Said Ray and Rondo came in fit, but as he understood it the others were training until the union was decertified, then they kicked back, thinking they wouldn't be playing until much later than they actually started.

Basically whole interview in a nutshell....No News Here!!! Don't Believe Everything You Read!!!

The thing is, I can't think of anything that was actually reported that was innacurate.  The problem was everyone (reporters, and readers) took the little to no information they had, and let their imaginations run wild.

Is it really news that teams were calling about Paul Pierce, in case the C's were blowing it up?  Isn't that the job of every GM to do?

Is it news that the Lakers, whose best SF might be Meta World Peace, are one of the teams that inquired?

Those aren't rumors, those are just stating the obvious of things that happen every day in the NBA.

I agree with this.  With the internet and 24 hour media circus we live in everybody is trying to be the guy who breaks a big story or be the guy who gets noticed.  They run with things without any substance to back it up.

I still say Wojo reported the Pierce thing to enhance an otherwise boring Perk article and generate web hits. There was nothing there of substance.

Wojo sensationalize something to get hits?  Never happen!
