Just a head's up in case anyone wants to catch it. I am dying to hear what he has to say about the trade rumors.

You can listen to it on weei.com

  Thanks.

Somewhat unrelated, but would there be a way to make a "sticky thread" somewhere that talked about Celts on the radio? I know some of these guys had/have regular weekly call-ins,  but I don't always know when or on which station.

If someone could provide a running transcript, that would be great. Can't listen from work right now.

Danny: He's not trying to light a fire under the team, he's just stating the obvious.

nice, hours after these Laker rumors come out - this interview has turned into discussing Mitt Romney.

Danny: It's obvious. Of course if he gets an offer that makes the team better he will make it.

Danny: He isn't getting offers with value anywhere near the value of those trades he mentioned about Bird and McHale.

doesn't want to become distraction

asked if comments were motivation or just answering questions. says he can't motivate players through media since they've been along for so long

Says the type of deals value wise for McHale and Bird are "absolutely not" on the table right now

Here is the WEEI archive link:

http://audio.weei.com/

They usually get the replays up shortly after they finish live.  There is also a celtics link so you can find any small interviews or discussion you may have missed.  Danny and Doc both come on weei weekly.

Danny is not going to say anything new today.  National media is just going crazy because he is repeating what he has said ever since he got here.  Presented with the right deal, he would trade anyone away and Red was presented with what he thought were good deals at the time.  He always goes on to say that the offers that Red had would not be made in today's NBA because of salary matching restriction so those trades would not be available.  Of course national media leaves that last part of and only runs the first half of the quote.  Danny has had this stance for years. Nothing new.  Danny has to keep people thinking he would trade his stars, so potential trade partners come knocking on his door.  That is all he is doing.

Danny: There is nothing imminent. I am not actively working on anything. The players came in unprepared.

The funny thing is, this is the point he was trying to get across in the interview with Washburn.  But it seems like everyone latched onto the part that Danny says he would make the trade if he could, but he really was just trying to say, if the trade was there to make, it would have already been made.
