A. I don't want to do this.

B. I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS.

C. If we do this, doesn't it seem like it'd have to be a 3-team deal?  Maybe get Houston involved again and get them Pau?  If the Lakers aren't offering Pau or Bynum I can't imagine how the heck they expect to get him, and I don't think they're offering Bynum.

Wasn't Danny reportedly interested in Kevin Martin a couple years back for Ray?  This is starting to oddly come together...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6mp5ydc

C's get:
Martin and Hill

Lakers get:
Pierce and Scola

Houston gets:
Pau

Toss a pick in here or there.  I gotta say, its at least intriguing from all 3 sides.  I am not a huge Martin fan, but he is fairly paid, and can score, and Hill would give us some nice young legs up front, that this team is missing.

As much as I loathe the idea of Pierce as a Laker, it's not a crazy idea.  I think you have to make LA kick in Ebanks or Caracter in any deal, preferably Ebanks.

Mike
both of them below average players aint on the level of Pierce young doesn't= good

Actually, I am shooting my own idea down after looking at Hills numbers.  For some reason I thought he had become a solid player, but it doesn't appear so.  Still, the framework is there.  And if we could get a guy like Buddinger, then that might make it worthwhile.

Martin and Hill is an uninspiring haul for Pierce.  Lakers and Rockets get the two best players, by far, in that deal.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I'd rather have either of them than Wilcox right now.  I think having a front court rotation of Pau/KG/JO/Bass would be pretty darn tough to beat, particularly because Pau could do all of the low-post scoring we want and can't get out of KG.  Defensively, we could have 2 7-footers on the court at all times.  How many open looks would Ray and Pietrus get with defenses collapsing on Pau?

I'm not saying I'd do the trade, but it's not crazy.

no freaking way you trade this teams franchise player to the lakers unless you A. get andrew bynum or B. get a 3rd team involved (the magic) that gets dwight howard here. In other words, no if you're going to trade pierce, don't make it so i need to see him in an awful fakers uniform...

I guess you'd have to consider it, though. I'm not sure the Lakers would be interested in a straight-up swap, considering if/when Bynum goes down their only two big men would be McRoberts and Murphy.

Pierce and Jermaine O'Neal for Pau Gasol, Matt Barnes and the Lakers' 2013 first-round draft pick.

Not really interested in it, but some Celtics fans who really hate Jermaine O'Neal might like the idea.

I really can't foresee a scenario, short of somehow getting Howard, where Pierce is traded to the Lakers and Danny is not run out of town by season's end.  Might even still happen with Howard involved.

Even if the deal made basketball sense there'd be a fan revolt the likes of which we've never seen.  Lots of season ticket non-renewals, etc.

I would definitely trade Pierce for Gasol. Gasol, KG, JO, Bass and Stiemsma is a pretty [dang] good front-court and the Celts desperately need another big man.

Right now, small forward isn't as much of a need as Pietrus and Daniels can play the position.

Not to mention, there will be a TON of very good small forward free agents next summer (Gerald Wallace.)

I think this trade benefits the Celts in the short and long term.

I'm not so sure about that. We're the fan base, and if you judge by everyone's reactions, it seems pretty divided. If rumors circulate slowly, it will be less of a shock than the backlash received with the Perk/Green deal.

Don't believe this.  This might be someone trying to create drama across the NBA field.  Essentially this trade would go down if the following occured:

-Pierce all of a sudden doesn't care about his legacy with the Celtics
-Fans boo him out of town (for whatever reason)
-Lakers willing to give up a lot of assets

Lakers aren't even a winner this season, so why would Paul want to go over there, make it to the 2nd round and then flame out?  So no, this is not ever going to happen.

Paul stays, thank you very much.

Except Pierce doesnt have a no-trade clause, so all of your points are irrelevent

LOL So you think an overpaid, aging SF is going to net you one of the games best, young centers?

Think with ya mind homie, not ya heart

LOL...you seriously think that if Danny Ainge trades Paul Pierce...to the Los Angeles Lakers of all teams in the league, the majority of the Boston Celtics fanbase will continue on bleeding green, sipping green kool-aid, and sporting their green goggles as if nothing happened?

AND you think it won't be as bad as what happened with Perk?? You can't be serious.
