Watching Marshon Brooks Is Killing Me

The guy is tearing it up. Say what you want about putting up numbers on a losing team but I would like to point out the Nets are only one game behind the Celtics in the wine column, three to four. So frankly, both teams stink.

Plus, who would you rather have as the back up 2 guard, Brooks or Dooling?

I am begining to think Ainge has lost it. He can not even draft well now, which was always his best ability.

I'd like to see JJJ get real minutes before lamenting a lack of Marshon Brooks.  I saw Johnson play a lot in college, and I assure you, he's got ability.

JJJ averages 2 mpg on the 4-8 Boston celtics.... hmmm

It is true that JJJ has not been getting time and so he remains a mystery. Still, it has been frustrating (Along with everything else) to watch.

A player like Marshon Brooks is a dime a dozen, he is a chucker on a bad team who doesnt play defense. JJJ is a 7 footer who has a lot more potential than Brooks.

He is a project though and needs to get stronger to hold his own in the post.

I hate this stupid infatuation with Brooks. And I would much rather have Dooling at the back up 2. Brooks is a decent rookie getting minutes on one of the leagues worst teams. Its like watching a D league team even with Deron out there. You switch Brooks with Moore, even Brooks with Bradley and I would bet that the numbers wouldnt be too far off.

Brooks was an afterthought because we had Jeff Green ready to have his break out year as the scorer off the bench.

This didn't work out well for us.
Had Green gone down before the draft it's very possible that Danny goes after this kid- he just wasn't a priority at the time.

Yeah, watching the Nets would kill me as well.  That's why I am cringing at the thought of the C's blowing things up any earlier than absolutely necessary.

Good draft picks by Danny Ainge include Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Al Jefferson, Delonte West, Tony Allen, Glen Davis, Ryan Gomes, and Semih Erden. 

I've probably missed some.  He's shown a very good track record in the draft, and I would say it's still too early to tell on Bradley, Johnson, and Moore.

Even Gerald Green, who hasn't been able to stay in the league, was a key piece in netting us Kevin Garnett.

Those of you who are so dismissive of Brooks' success, what would it take for you to admit that he's legit?  Is there a certain stat you're looking for?  A "Player of the Week" award?

Because right now he's 6th among all SGs in terms of PER, at 19.36.  So he's not just a chucker or "volume scorer".  The guy is efficient (TS% of 56.1), and this is a fact regardless of the team he plays for.  

Let's all just admit that Danny may have missed the boat on this one.  We are badly lacking in scoring, and Brooks is a kid who could have come in right away and given our offense a boost.
