Which player is the best passer?
1. Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers -- 40.7%
2. Steve Nash, Phoenix -- 37.0%
3. Ricky Rubio, Minnesota -- 11.1%
Also receiving votes: Jose Calderon, Toronto; Jason Kidd, Dallas; Deron Williams, New Jersey
Last year: Steve Nash -- 75.0%

Rondo got NO votes.  Huh?  Color me confused.

That explains why Ainge has trouble trading Rondo for another star.

I guess this in some part tells us why Rondo doesn't seem to have as much trade value as we'd expect.

However, Rondo was mentioned in a lot of the categories, including toughest and most dangerous in the open court.  Obviously, GMs respect his game a great deal, but it is shocking that they don't have a very high opinion of his passing ability.

I have to guess that its his penchant for attempting the spectacular pass that many times turns into a turnover or the pass underneath trying to force an assist when he has the opportunity to lay it in. He can get a little pass happy at times causing a lot of turnovers.

I still think he's one of the top 2 passers in the league and think Rubio is getting a lot of love simply because he's the new guy on the block.

I'm trying to figure out when they might have taken the survey. Naming Rubio best passer would imply that he's played enough games in the nba season to get noticed as such, but the same number of people who thought Rubio was the best passer in the league think that the Celts have the best defense in the league. That would seem to imply that they hadn't seen much of this season if any.

That's because Rondo has those 3 HOFers playing so well around him right now.   ::)

i'm guessing it was before the season (or during pre-season), and GMs were basing the Rubio vote on what they'd seen in international competition.

I don't think Rondo has completed a KG alley oop pass in 10 months yet he still tries them.  The execution part is more KG's fault since he no longer can jump, but why does Rondo still try them to begin with???

sorry bad wording try this:
passing & court vision nash & rondo are hand in hand
you have to put chris paul up there as well due to his lack of turnovers
i wish rondo could cut the turnovers down 3 is fine

There was a point last night when Rondo had a wide open lane for a layup and instead threw an over the shoulder pass to Jermaine Oneal (or Bass) who promptly missed the five footer..

A part of being a good passer is knowing when to shoot in order to keep the defense honest and always on their toes guessing. Once you become transparent in just always passing guys start playing those passing lanes all the time and you just make it that much harder on yourself. To me Rondo is starting to become easily readable. Scouts are telling their guys to just sit in his passing lanes cause they know nine out of ten times he wont shoot and instead will pass.

When he was newer his game wasnt as known league wide so people didnt have as reliable a scouting report on him. If he wants to evolve to the next level in terms of player and teammate he needs to start addressing these blatant weaknesses.

I beleive the kid has the drive but his stubborness is well documented and the struggles at the line make me question how much he actually works on that being as its the most glaring hole in his game. Hopefully he confides in someone either a teammate or coach whos close to him thats able to tell him these things without offending him. And who lets him know its not personal. But if you wanna be one of the greats you gotta start acting like one. And the greats work hard to address any weakness they might have.

The problem is right now Rondo has know one to really pass to the makes you go WOW!!! You see some of the summer league clips on the web. Some really nice passes to ATHLETIC players. You put this guy on Miamis team and he'd average 17 APG easy. He has 10 APG right now and the team can't shoot!
