4 wins - 8 losses. 3 of 7 at home. 5-game losing streak. 2012... Maybe the Mayans were right.. This is the end of the world as we know it. The 5-year joyride of the legendary 'Big Three' is officially over. The signs are all over us - rebound disparity, shooting slumps, turnovers, and so on... Someone's got to be responsible, because you can't blame the whole team. Rondo has been trying to carry the team somehow, but he's the only one running, Ray has been shooting quite consistently (except for the past few games), and Bass and Pietrus have been solid off the bench.. But this team has been let down by their leaders - Captain Paul Pierce and Defensive Anchor Kevin Garnett! Pierce hasn't been Pierce since being sidelined with the heel injury. His offense has sputtered and he's slow defensively.. KG is having a hard time protecting the paint and always settles for the jumpshots and fadeaways instead of taking it hard to the hole.. If your stars are reluctant and ineffective, what can you expect from your role players? I know age and conditioning are big factors but look at Kobe - he's also 'old' and even has more mileage but he's still knocking down 40 points! KG and Pierce need to wake up and start playing with a sense of urgency... or one of them needs to go!

PP is slowy getting better. In fact i liked his game offensively against OKC. He attacked the rim quiet a few times, and thats first step back to his game. Snowballeffect ... If Paul scores he gains confidence in body. When the trust in the body is back, the mental side will change ...

The rebounding and turnovers have been our trademark the past few years; those are nothing new and we could win with those defficiencies.  The problem is our offense.  Holding a team to 90 points a game is generally considered good, and last year it would have been enough to rank #1 in the league in points allowed (because of the lockout scores are all over the place this year so not sure how the averages look this season).

We're able to hold teams to around 90 or under, but when you're ending the first half in the 30's or the entering the 4th qtr in the 60's as far as point totals go, you're probably not going to outscore the other team in most cases, especialy agaist the better teams.

We are not getting any easy buckets this year and it seems the offense has to work so hard to get decent scoring chances.  At least Pierce finally showed some initiative last night so hopefully this will start to turn around soon.

Pierce has looked a little better the last couple games with the exception of his non-existent jumpshot.  I actually have hope he is playing himself back into shape.

KG is just done, though. Done.  He hobbles around the court, can't finish at the hoop, he can't jump, His body just doesnt react in time to fight for positioning or to slide over on defensive rotations, and his mid-range J is brick city (probably the most disappointing thing).

KG's shot looks super flat and he cant pull down rebounds (even when he manages to get a hand on it).

The team is a poor positional rebounding team and they cant make up for it with athleticism (except rondo).

TP for the funny thread title. Tried to give you another for the good 2012 Mayan crack, but the computer told me I had to wait an hour before giving another.
