Has there been a play more emblematic of this team's main problem than Durant'ts 4th Q slam in which NO ONE even remotely moved to stop the penetration?

This is exactly what was happening at the end of last season as well.

I liked a lot of what was happening tonight. A bench of Bass, Pietrus, Moore, and Quis has a lot to like about it.

A backup PG would be nice as well, but this team CANNOT be properly evaluated until we have a starting center. All we are seeing now is a continuation of the team's late season swoon from last year and it started when we changed the recipe for this squad in the Perkins trade.

Time to go back to the original recipe. Danny can't get Perk back (although it sounds like he tried) but he could get us a decent center...now's the time.

  • Rondo = Good

as you said, this group may be nice, but without a true backup PG to handle the ball and a decent backup center to hold down the middle, they're gonna be pretty bad unless Rondo and JO or KG are in.

Well I agree about a backup PG, but priority #1 is a STARTING center. We need someone who is going to be real presence in the middle. JO would be a decent backup big, but like tonight even with a solid stat line it was like he wasn't even out there....

I would beg Danny on my hands and knees, if I had the chance, to get this team a center.

agreed, we really need a better starting center, too.  but even getting another rotation worthy center could do wonders for this team.

i just don't see how it's gonna happen, though.

I'm not convinced it's even a priority for Danny. He didn't even blink when Okur was moved. Not sure he is what we need but I would take him.
