It is really nice to see that all the Celtics and Perk still have a great appreciation for each other and the business of basketball has not gotten in the way.

And for what it's worth, Perk thinks we will still be in the mix this year.

Here is more from the interview:

Man, hearing our guys talk and hearing perk, you can just tell these guys were so close.  Danny might have really undervalued chemistry when it came to Perk.  What's done is done.  Hopefully we live and learn.

The biggest positive with chemistry/cohesive groups is being tight enough to be able to hold each other accountable, to be able to tell a teammate to pull his head out of his ass.

The biggest negative with chemistry/cohesive groups is being so tight and groovy that you don't hold each other accountable out of fear of rocking the boat of good feelings.  (I think this became the Pistons' problem).

But I don't really care what Perk thinks about the Celtics roster, and as a role player, I really don't care what he thought about the roster when he was on it.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Of course Perkins 'thinks we'll be fine'. For 4 years these guys were like brothers to him, and Rondo was the best man at his wedding (or was it the other way around). It doesn't cost him anything to throw fluff like that out there, so why say somethign controversial when you don't hold a grudge?

Man...what other team has former players talk about them like that. I mean we hear the same sentiment from Tony Allen and Perk. They love playing here cause we the fans love them. These free agent dudes dont understand what its like to be on a boston sports team. How deep it goes.

Easy for him to say.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Definitely - and frankly, the best thing that ever happened to him was getting traded to THE next up and coming team in the NBA. There will always be the 'what ifs' with Perk, but it may just be that we are getting old and he left at the right time (in our decline)...no matter what, I am glad that still holds us in high regard.
