I wonder if Memphis would be interested in a deal that centered around KG and Ray for Gay and Mayo. With Z-Bo out they could use the extra PF. Gasol and KG could hold it down until Z-
Bo comes back. Then you have a nice trio of bigs there.
Memphis has been shopping Mayo according to reports and if they are looking for a guy like Morrow then they should like Ray Allen on an expiring deal.
I guess Memphis would need to be convinced that Gay isn't as good a fit with their new style of play. They are definitely more of an inside and out team with Z-Bo, the evolution of Marc, and Gay being out so long last year then in the past.
I mean the West is the most wide open it has been in years. Z-Bo, Conley, Gasol, Ray, and TA with KG as the sixth man makes you as legit as anyone else in the West.
I don't know if the salaries match up bc the Trade Machine is down, but they might since Memphis isn't a tax team. I have a hard time seeing Memphis paying 10-16 million each for four separate guys the next 3-4 years too. They are notoriously cheap and might want to dump Gay's contract.
While Gay is overpaid he would be a perfect fit with Rondo because he plays well without the ball. Mayo would be nice too and it's obvious Memphis isn't extending him. I'd throw in the Clipper's pick to get it done.
