Who are you to say that the big 3 won't get us anything of quality back?
If Danny gets good offers, he should consider them. If not, than don't bother.
I disagree with anyone who insists "Blow it up" because the correct chant should be to field offers.
I am even fine with getting comparable players who are cheaper so that the money can be saved for another season.
Yup I agree. If things don't get better in a hurry he should be open to offers.
I wouldn't even be apposed to taking on money for the right players because I am far from convinced any significant, franchise changing FA's are going to sign here. Ainge might end up using that cap space to add players via trade anyways so what is the difference if he does so now or after the season or in a year or two?
There are three ways to rebuild this thing.
1) the draft. Which probably means a strong or poor seasons leading to lottery picks. I don't think Ainge has the patience for this plan and he probably shouldn't.
2) Free Agency. The best FA's aren't signing here IMO and in most cases will move to new teams via trades. We don't want Ainge using his cap space as effectively as say, Joe Dumars did in Detroit.
3) accumulate assets and then trade those assets for established players. This worked once for Ainge and might be his best avenue again considering everything.
In the end it will probably take a combination of these three to get it done.
