The nba is packed with some of the greatest athletes in the world.  There is so much talent that even the scrubbiest of the scrubs are superhuman talents compared to the average person.

In the end, there isn't THAT much of a difference talent-wise between the top and bottom players.  So it doesn't take much for players to get old.  I believe players can go from good to not good in a short time by just losing a little bit of their skill.

I know people are wondering whether KG and Pierce are suffering from the lockout.  I simply think that time has caught up to KG.  He is officially old and done.  He's 35 so we shouldn't be surprised.  As for PP, while I don't think he is THIS bad, the years have also caught up with him.  34 is also very old.

We may some glimpses of the throughout this season but history (not named Ray Allen) simply suggests that both have gone over the cliff.  It CAN happen this fast.

it happens that fast all the time.  I remember watching Gary Payton here in Seattle putting up his typical 20 points, 9 assists and 2 steals in 2002-03.  Two years later he was playing for the Celtics and looked like a completely different player.  Time just caught up with him.  He was toast.

Happens to all of them.

Best example: Dr. J. He literally went from superstar to scrub in a single night.

Yea , I saw Grant Hill and Steve Nash , both very old for NBA players sitting injured on the sideline last night.

Kobe is closing in on his day as well...he is carrying LA on his back more than ever. He'll blow a tire sooner or latter.

Amaire has slowed WAY down after his fast start at NY.  His tank is about run dry as well. His back is bad now , like Barkley and Bird, once that deal sits in your toast.

KG aged 10 years in 6 months. He even LOOKS older, and frail.

Injuries and younger players can make you look more older than you actually are.

I have read premature reports of both Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett's demise before.  Hopefully this one is premature, as well.
