When was the last time you saw KG two hand slap the floor just over half court at anyone?! He's getting very old in a hurry! Don't let those 3 baskets fool you in that stretch. He is getting out rebounded now by the guards.

According to the spreadsheet, KG's 21.2 million is coming off the books. He is playing for his next contract. If he is truly "retired in place" then we would be staring at a trading Garnett to Detroit for Ben Gorden and Jason Maxiel type trade later this season. Garnett would then play a few games with Detriot and walk away.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

  • It's all about the TEAM!
your blaming the wrong big man. garnett does not have any help....we have got too get rid of j.o...he's the PROBLEM. WE NEED TO MAKE A TRADE FAST
Yeah, it's pretty disappointing that Danny wasn't able to find KG some real big man help this off-season.

It's like revisiting everything that happened post-All Star break last season after the Perk trade + Shaq's injury. An overworked (KG + BBD) and undermanned big man rotation.

It wasn't Danny's fault. Just a bad summer opportunity wise. Danny did what he could.

Yeah, I don't see KG as much of the problem as much as I do seeing JO being totally planted to the floor night in and night out as well as I think Pierce looks even worse than KG at this point. I never thought I would see Pierce actually hurting our team but in reality, I almost feel like he's killing us when he plays right now. He should sit more games out if he can't play any better than this. Honestly, I think he looks much worse than KG at this point.

KG has got a long ways to go but I see moments and glimmers from him. I think he'll eventually get back to being a reasonable player for us. I'm sure that's not a popular opinion but I don't have him as the main problem of our team right now. Just one of the many problems and less so than others at this time.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
It occurs to me the following:

1) Garnett has been in the league for longer than most dogs live.

2) he's been on losers and winners, but, despite what can politely be called gross incompetence during his prime, he's been on more winners than losers.

3) he's on the decline, and it probably makes him want to punch a baby panda bear out of frustration every morning that his body is in the midst of a prolonged and coordinated mutiny.

3) he is a man so committed to 'going 100%' that he will willfully create a completely false feud in his mind with an opposingplayer for 48 minutes on off nights just to keep himself motivated.

Those three things considered, benching, embarrassing, or tar and feathering kg in any fashion withthe goal of teaching or sending him some kind of lesson seems at best, counterproductive. Kg is getting old, it sucks, and it is, as they say, what it is.

Garnett needs to go play a basketball game tomorrow.  And if he sucks, he needs to go to practice, work out, and get ready for the next game.  In short, Garnett doesn't need to do a darn thing other than what he's done for the past 15 years.  He will be fine, and so will the C's.

in other words, the Heat also lost 3 games...

look im also as frustrated with Garnett's play lately, but I trust the Celtics, eventually they'll figure it out

I believe in them, Garnett is probably pounding his head at home right now, he's always so intense, he just needs that intensity back

benching KG is not the answer. but angering him could do the trick. though i think he is already angering himself enough with his current play. he did have a couple moves in the post last night that looked pretty good. he needs to continue setting picks and posting on the block.

we are struggling no doubt. but i really feel that we started to shine after the second quarter. we made a great comeback to bring the game back to a reasonable deficit. it was just too big of a hole to crawl out of.

we showed signs of brilliance last night. guys were cutting to the basket, playing pretty solid defense, and we even got some athletic plays from wilcox, bass, etc. its hard to see right now, but i think are close to being a relevant team again. it make take another game or two but we WILL hit our stride soon enough. i have faith.

Can we start JJJ in his place? Please? He's young. He can jump. He can run.

I'm already daydreaming of alley-oops from Rondo to him.

Our starting lineup really needs some youth and KG really has no business starting at this point.

Since we're not going to win games, we might as well develop JJJ, ET and AB. Even Steamroller.

TP, Well said.

KG is not a guy who lacks or needs extra motivation.

guys you heard it on CSNNE last night.
Pierce and Garnett were not prepared for
this season. They were planning on vacation.

don't make rash judgements until another month.

Unbelievable that people will sit back and think it is fine that multi-millionaire athletes don't have enough pride to stay in shape. Or even worse, maybe this is a complete line of bull. Wonder what the secret is of many other veterans, such as Kobe, who seem in mid-season form?
