Garnett to me is the main reason we are playing as abysmally as we are.

Garnett was a hard liner with the union and really didn't believe that there would be a season. Consequently, he did no where near the preparation that he normally does to prepare for a season.

I have stated this before on this board many times in the past few weeks in defense/explanation/excuse for Garnett's slow start, and still believe that he will find his game legs. However, at what expense, now? Erosion of team confidence, embarassing losses with potential longterm effects. Burning out of other players like Ray and PP and RR carrying his sorry butt.

He short rims or misses badly, even on turnaround 6 footers. He is a step slow on every play. His timing is horrendous and is hurting the team badly just by being in there. He can't even block/challenge a shot.

His lack of fire/caring/inspired play is rubbing off on everyone else. Rose towards the end of the first half tomahawks one with Wilcox just standing by??? Rose should have been leveled. What happened to our "no easy baskets" philosophy? It's MIA, just like Garnett. And it's no coincidence that they are missing together.

Garnett needs to have an inferno lit under him. Bench his sorry butt, get him really angry and let him earn his way back onto the court through practice. Play JO, Wilcox, Stiemsma, Bass and even JJJ and then let Garnett make an appearance. Doc doesn't have the courage to do this though.

Time for Garnett to step up or step away.

You said it, "Doc doesn't have the courage to do this though" and that is one of the main reasons why we are doing so poorly. And not just in this scenario.

Garnett and Pierce were both bad tonight. Pierce was atrocious. He is clearly out of shape. Garnett, I just don't know. Is he out of shape or has he just lost it because of all of the minutes on the court?

Then there's just plain old age.

  • Rondo = Good
It's not a matter of pride or anger with KG.  He's just old.  We can't expect him to do the same things he once did.

Can we start JJJ in his place? Please? He's young. He can jump. He can run.

I'm already daydreaming of alley-oops from Rondo to him.

Our starting lineup really needs some youth and KG really has no business starting at this point.

Agreed.  He just aged so fast....its hard to believe.  I think PP is still injuried AND out of shapeboth...He can't get back in shape if he can't run hard.  Ray can't carry their load ...and JO an't getting 15 boards .......so we are sunk

Yeah, it's pretty disappointing that Danny wasn't able to find KG some real big man help this off-season.

It's like revisiting everything that happened post-All Star break last season after the Perk trade + Shaq's injury. An overworked (KG + BBD) and undermanned big man rotation.

It wasn't Danny's fault. Just a bad summer opportunity wise. Danny did what he could.

Yes, JO must go. I thought that went without saying lol. Danny just has to get him out of here. He has to.

I fully expect Rondo to be gone before the end of the season. In case you missed it, in we got a lecture about the role of the franchise player when the game was on the line in the 4th. Compare how Rose responded to how Rondo responded (and Rose was a guy that was pretty routinely embarrassed into submission by Rondo just a couple of seasons ago).

on paper you see all our SUPERSTAR players names and you have to think ..wow they have to be good.....but in reality we barely can field a team with all these new players and old worn out ones.

Its sad...think we need to let the guys go and move on.

Yup, he just doesnt have enough in the tank to be a key factor on this team anymore. If he could give us 20 - 25 minutes a night that would be huge.
