I know it will probably be impossible to trade kg for anything , but I think a package of ray ,JO and a pick might be able to get us back a Josh Smith type of player.

Or maybe Ray and JO for Korver and Gibson and/or Asik

This team is done , no energy whatsoever. Get killed on the boards every game. No shot blocking besides steimsma. No one to run alongside Rondo on the fastbreak. He is more often than not running the fast break by himself.

We need youth, Athleticism, I can't just watch this team die out like this,
let ray try to get another ring somewhere and at least get picks back.

Ray is our only semi valuable asset besides Rondo.

I know ray's not the problem, but PP and KG are most likely unmoveable

Get some chips back to make this rebuilding process quicker .

KG has an expiring contract, so he's worth something. If we let Ray go, we'll really have nothing! But aside from Rondo & Bass, he's the only one anyone would really want? Sad, sad days ahead...

I honestly see Ray allen being an elite SG in this league for another 3 years. I think he has a very high value on a rebuilding team next year.

it may be best just to let this season play out let the contracts expire and make a splash in the draft/free agency

An elite SG who can't create his own shot? ???

Ray to Memphis for OJ Mayo + whatever else filler needed to make the salaries match.

but like I said about Josh Smith...whats the point of trading for OJ mayo when hes stated he would like to play with Rondo and is a FA relatively soon.

Josh Smith WILL NOT get traded. He is playing amazingly good and its more likely for the Hawks to move Horford at this point.

BOS sends: KG, clippers pick (since ours is likely to be top 15)

ATL sends: Al Horford, Kirk Hinrich

^That trade makes sense for both of us. With Horford out for the rest of the season, we get a better draft pick this season and when he comes back he is on an AMAZING contract and a core of Rondo/Horford/Green/Ray is attractive to FA's and marketable.

Pierce needs to be amnestied. He isn't motivated anymore and isn't performing.

Because I don't think we have a realistic chance of getting Josh Smith. Atlanta could get a much better package from somewhere else than we could piece together. OJ for Ray has pro and cons for both sides, but it makes more sense for both sides. Also, OJ will be a restricted FA (like all of the other worthwhile FA's this summer), meaning it'll be more difficult to sign him outright.

Why blow it up? I think this team will be just fine.  Just looking at the box score of the Chicago game, I can see KG already has 4 points and 3 rebounds.  He's earning every bit of that $22M contract this season.

Now I can see why both he and Pierce walked into that owners meeting together trying to hold off the season.  They knew what was in store for the 2011-2012 season.  ;)
We all think we know more than we really do....

Rondo leading the team in points, rebounds, assist and steals.

If he really gets cranking he could have a quadruple double.

Relax, every team goes through spells like this. It just so happens that the Celtics are just an older team hence they are under more of a microscope.

Besides...isn't there 10 topics on blowing it up already?

I think Rondo has a real chance at notching a quadruple double before his career is over.

Yes, i don't think we can get a lot for Ray even if he's in perfect shape anyway. Let's just play it out, try out some new schemes and see if it'l work. Then make a big move come free agency time. KG might retiring next year anyway the way he looks right now, Ray might ask for about another 5-6 mil, 15 mil. in cap space for next year is good enough to rebuild.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Ray+clippers pick for billups+t-wolves pick

Rondo for collison+George and whatever else you can get (like indy's 1st, or hansbrough, not just filler)

And make a decision now if pierce does or does not retire a Celtic. If you're willing to move him, don't wait.

Two high 1sts, plus some really decent pieces. Make a move for Howard if there is one to be made, or don't if there isn't and get two the hard way.

Ray is really the only tradeable option (not letting Rondo go) and would bring back the biggest value, yet, i feel like he is the most valuable piece to this team other than Rondo. He can play a great 2 for a few more years alongside Rondo and could run with a young athletic team. KG would be the first on my list to trade, hes got the most desirable contract for a team looking for relief. If we could get a young big Id be all for sending KG out. Not sure what we would be able to get in return however.

regardless if ray is the only tradale option ,still dosent make no sence it wont change that fact that paul & KG are done

no matter who we bring in for after the trade ,

only thing i want is CAP SPACE we'll have that next year so lets ride this ugly one out till the end shall we ? unless theres a trade that provides talent & more cap space next year
