I think Otis somehow convinced himself that he needed a guy with "championship pedigree".
I think he's trying anything he can to keep D12 and Baby is liked by D12.

Big Baby needs to get out of the NBA.  When Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen can't give u a reality check u are just a lost soul.

I can't believe this guy was actually productive for us at times in the past.  Just shows how good of a coach Doc is for getting anything out of the guy.

Sorry, but I'm just not going to start bashing the guy on the word of some unknown fan without hearing his side of the story, too, or without it being verified by someone with some credibility.

This is the entire story ... there's always two sides. I'm not saying it didn't happen the way this fan said it did, just that such things are constantly misconstrued, and it's generally the celebrity who gets the worst, simply because he's a celebrity.

Glen said he didn't use profanity, and that they swore at him ... I'll give the ex-Celtic the benefit of the doubt (for now) until I hear something a bit more credible. Besides, there's enough bashing in this thread to last the guy the rest of this season.

Entire Story:

Two fans who attended the Orlando Magic's recent road game against the Portland Trail Blazers are alleging that Magic forward Glen Davis had a profane argument with one of them after Davis was heckled during pregame warm-ups.

Davis told the Orlando Sentinel on Saturday that he never cursed, and Davis and the two fans said the dispute never became physical.

"I didn't use profanity at all," Davis said. "At all. That was the amazing thing. I was a good guy that time."

Portland residents Nick Price and Chase Daniels say that, perhaps an hour before the national anthem, they were in the Rose Garden stands near the tunnel that connects the court to the visitors' locker room.

Davis ran past autograph-seekers as he went into the tunnel, and one of those autograph-seekers yelled at Davis. According to Price and Daniels, the upset autograph-seeker yelled, "It doesn't matter. You'll be out of the league in five years anyway."

Davis recalls that the autograph-seeker also used an expletive.

Davis, who didn't see the heckler make the comment, returned to the area and — apparently thinking it was Daniels who made the comment — started talking with Daniels.

Price and Daniels said Davis used two separate expletives during a heated conversation.

Daniels said he got upset at Davis — and told Davis he wasn't afraid of Davis — before a Rose Garden security official interceded and ended the argument.

"It didn't look like he was going to come into the stands or anything," Daniels said.

Price said he wrote the Blazers, the Magic and the NBA about the incident because he was offended that profanity was used in front of children.

Jim Taylor, the Blazers' senior director of communications, confirmed that the Blazers had heard about an incident, but he would not discuss any details.

Taylor told the Sentinel: "We are only able to confirm that we did receive reports of an interaction between an Orlando Magic player and a fan."

Quote
Orlando Magic post player Glen "Big Baby" Davis had an alleged dicey run-in with autograph seekers last night at the Rose Garden Arena. Two witnesses told The Oregonian that Davis was leaving the court after warming up prior to the Magic's 107-104 victory over the Blazers when a autograph-seeker turned heckler caught his attention.

According to Nick Price, who was present at the game, an unidentified heckler shouted as Davis blew off autograph seekers, "...you'll be out of the league in five years!" Davis allegedly disappeared into the tunnel headed to the visiting locker room, but reversed and came back out to confront the individual. Except, he couldn't locate the person who said it.

Two witnesses said Davis looked for the heckler and had a heated exchange that had to be managed by a Rose Garden Arena security staffer. According to Price, Davis repeatedly used profanity and said, "I just got paid (expletive)!" among other things, before the security staffer intervened. Said Price: "I didn't care... but with the kids around I was a bit offended." A second witness, Chase Daniels, said that Davis was upset, and upon returning to the scene asked the autograph seekers, "Who said that? You talking (bleep) to me?!

According to Daniels, Davis mistakenly believed he was the heckler and said to him: "This is why I don't sign autographs," and "Who are you anyways, a nobody. I just got paid, didn't I?"
Same old Baby.
Ooooohhh Glen (had to go govt. name on him) that bold at the end was not good at all. The nobody you just called the man is the reason why you and all these players are living comfortably in your houses, eating well and driving good cars. I wonder do some of these athletes feel this way too because that's sad if true.

I have no problem with him insulting a fan of another team. My problem is what saying "I got paid" reveals about Baby. Calling a heckling fan of another team a 'nobody' is fine by me. Lot's of players talk back to loud fans of opposing teams.

Who cares what he said it's his business.   "I got paid" doesn't offend me as a lot of these guys waste it and Glen will probably eat his money.  It shows markedly bad judgement and poor character but it's his business.

BTW, when a guy says they are not scared of you, they are 9 out of 10 times.
