Nononononononononono never again.  At $7mil a year, he couldn't even be bothered to start get into shape or give any real effort until the playoffs.  Can you imagine how lazy he'd be at the veterans minimum?  Good luck putting him out there on a back-to-back-to-back with the condensed schedule.  I know JO has been non-existent, but would we really get more from Sheed at this point?

I guess he'd be more useful than Pavlovic but I'd still keep Rasheed behind Stiemsma and Oneal on the depth chart.  Wallace was washed up way before the C's signed him.  It would be nice if Wilcox showed a pulse, because he could be the best of the bunch.  No wonder he has never played in a playoff game.  There are minutes to be grabbed, and he's not trying to grab them.

Short season is ideal for Sheed comeback.

Face it, what do we have to lose ?

get him on the floor.

I think if he gets back here in Green, he'd help us. The coasting stuff would be in the past. Doc would manage his minutes.

The second time around would be different.

GuaranSheed.

For me, there are conditioning concerns with Sheed. Put me down as loving to see him back in Green, but as of TODAY we'd need him for the regular season, too.

Back in 2009-10, he coasted a bit during the regular season, and we could afford it because we had Perk.....but BOY! Did he win some games for us in the playoffs that year....and BOY did he play perhaps his best game as a Celtic when IT MATTERED MOST:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201006170LAL.html

Game 7 of the NBA Finals from June 2010. Yes - we lost a heartbreaker, but for me all I remember is the good times here....the wiley veteran Sheed backing down Pau Gasol old-school style in the post, and then elevating and shooting over him. He did that 3 or 4 times that game, and made it look easy vs perhaps the best big in the game at the time.

He added 8 rebs and 2 assists in 35 min of play, too...he stepped up and gave it his all when Perk went down.

To me, Sheed has some unfinished business in Green. I don't think he wanted to go out like he did.

I'd love to have him back here, but we need him NOW, as in conditioned.

Looking at that box score again is still painful.

Agreed love KG but what stands out most and is hard to swallow = 3 rebounds

Well, csnne have been wrong before.  I think it's quite possible we're interested. The center position and the boards have been a weakness for us. Another big body could help And I'm fine with cutting sasha with pietrus on board.

Wow, 5.6rpg from Garnett for the series as a whole.

Rondo led the team in rebounds at 6.3rpg. Didn't remember that.

Also, Glen Davis with 5.6rpg in just 20.6mpg. He did a great job attacking L.Odom on the boards in that series especially the offensive glass. Did a real nice job defending Odom too although BBD struggled with Gasol.

Given his superior rebounding the next year I'm still regretful he didn't get the surgery immediately in February of 09.

Several months more time to get into shape could have turned that series if it restored his rebounding ability a few months earlier.

Look - I'm only posting the 1st clip here, but here is game 7 of NBA Finals 2010. I've been looking for this for a while.

I'm sure we all know the final outcome but Man! Look at Sheed go to work here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RnuEpdcRd0&feature=BFa&list=ULtefI3iqx5BQ&lf=mfu_in_order

I know...this was almost two yrs ago...Sheed was 35 then (he's now 37)...but look at that defense on the first two possessions vs Bynum...Drew didn't score with Sheed on him until his 3rd possession. Sheed shut him down twice in a row.

Add in one of Sheed's blocks vs Gasol in the first qtr, too.

Offense? GuaranSheed. Look at Postmaster Sheed work on Gasol on those first two attempts...I haven't seen postwork like that in a while, to be honest. And this was from a 35 yr old man who didn't turn it on until the playoffs.

Sheed didn't exert a lot of energy, either...he was always known as a very intelligent player, and I'm sure that this would help him, too.

If he is serious about his conditioning and coming back, I find it hard to believe that he would've lost too much. After all, wasn't PJ Brown 38 when he helped us in 07-08?

Sadly, you can already see the rebound deficiencies starting to add up, even in the 1st qtr. KG looked a bit flat already.

I know that a lot of things are up in the air, and neither LA or us are guaranteed to even make the playoffs, but I'd love Sheed to come back here if he's conditioned.

Whether he starts or not him, a healthier KG, Sheed, JO, and Wilcox and Bass (and hopefully Stiem), gives us just enough Bigs to get this done.
