Ok, so I see I should've also put Smith's name in the thread title, since most people were too lazy to read my whole post and see that part of it. And as I said elsewhere in this thread, I was just rapidly brainstorming on how we could get a decent center, and combining that with the growing sentiment here that KG is washed up and should go. Apparently, though, there are a lot of people on here who are know-it-all jerks and just can't resist getting in some jabs.

I beg your pardon, but you started a thread entitled "Horford out; KG for Pachulia anyone?"

Then when people react negatively (as they should) to that idea, you get snippy and start calling people names, saying "that wasn't really what I meant."

Come on, you are not playing well with others here.

Pachulia is set to be paid about $5 million next season.  I would rather give KG a one-year, $10 million extension (if the CBA permits) than deal him for Pachulia.

I am one of the biggest Pachulia fans around, but I am going to use this to pound home the idea once again.  KG is REALLY tough to trade.

This trade comes nowhere close to working.  KG just makes WAY too much money to be able to trade him for anything close to an even value (not that Pachulia is, but, you get get the point I hope).

Come on, you are not playing well with others here.

It was my fault that I didn't put Smith's name in the title, and my fault that I didn't flesh out the Pachulia idea more -- something like, "KG makes $20M, and Pachulia makes only $4.75M, so Atlanta could throw in Player X and Player Y to make the salaries work." Like I said, I was just processing on paper, so to speak, trying out different ideas. Pachulia's clearly nowhere near KG's level, but ol' Zaza has given Boston fits more than a few times with his scrappiness and hustle, and I thought he'd be a good fit here, providing something we need (and currently don't have much of) at the center spot.

As far as people reacting negatively, that's fine, they can have any opinion they want, but there's a clear difference between respectfully disagreeing and being a jerk about it, and a couple of the replies on here I took as being jerky -- and I don't consider that baseless namecalling, I consider it calling a spade a spade. If I think someone's being a jerk, it's not immature of me to say so. And when people make mocking replies, it's not conducive to creating a feeling that all ideas and opinions are welcome and will be treated respectfully, even if disagreed with. Theoretically, at least, we're all on the same team here as far as NBA basketball goes, and it would be nice if we all responded accordingly.

Anyway, I was just being honest, saying what I felt, as I am now.

Most people don't read the OP or the rest of the thread, especially when the title is something outlandish or inflammatory.  This is true on pretty much any forum.

But no worries, these kinds of threads distract from the "everybody sucks" threads, so it's all good.   :)

It's funny that some people reacted that way, because I wasn't trying to be either outlandish or inflammatory, that's not my nature. I was just thinking out loud. I've seen plenty of trade proposals on here that I thought ridiculous, but I didn't say something snarky about it then, and I won't now, because it's just not constructive.

I certainly appreciate your much more pleasant response, fairweatherfan.
