  • You say when......
So, have you ever heard Bil Belechick say.."This is BRADY's Team!"...NO, The Bruins coach...that this is some players team...? No..... So, today, DOC says.. "This is Rondo's Team!".. So does that mean Rondo did all the trades last year / this year...? Resign ect....? Here is a guy they said they were VERY willing to TRADE just a month ago....right TRADE, as in goodbye.....! NOW it is HIS team...? Seems like Doc is bailing out when he finally has to coach to make something happen. Oh ya, it is all Rondo's fault, why he should score 48 a night, get 20 assists, rebounds, AND RUN the team.  never did care for Doc. Championship, well with PP, KG and Ray, PJ brown, poset, leon powe when he was hot Rondo as guard D West...how could you not win...? All the times since, when he was supposed to work it, make it happen, he fell terribly short...now he is throwing RONDO under the bus...!

I don't think he's blaming Rondo.. It's Rondo's team because he's the only one that's playing like a superstar.. He's the new leader now.. Pierce can't score like he used to, KG can't control the paint, and Ray Allen can't create his own shot and just relies on Rondo's passing .. Let's face it, three of our four best players are past their prime.. The torch has been passed to Rajon two years ago..

Sounds like praise for Rondo to me. Doc is admitting that our future hall of famers are becoming complimentary players.

Well, he never said it was PP's team, or kg"s, or Ray's...or the Big three's team......and the timing...it is Rondo's team..now that nothing is happening...a leader would step up, take responsibility, and find a way to steer the team the way it should be....That is ALWAYS THE COACH. Even Phil Jackson never said it was MJ's team....... I think it is very weak.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
So, he doesn't get any of the credit because he won when he had all the right pieces and he gets all the blame because we're losing when the pieces have almost ended all their useful life???

Dude's cards are stacked against him at this point. I'd judge him more harshly if he didn't win when he has all the right pieces in place. And no, I don't think that is the case in the past. I think he got us as far or beyond where we could have been without him. We only lost the championship in 2010 by 4 points when nobody believed we'd make it past the Cavs and the Magic that year.

I don't really like blaming Doc. Not now at least.
The Celtics aren't quitters. Why should you be? - blind homer

He lost that championship in game5, 6 and then 7..they could have had it earlier, had they wanted it..then they got out coached, out muscled, and out- dirtied....as in hack fest unanswered.....he either  let or played the guys into injury two years in a row, both times in January, and the players still played hurt...with the playoffs right around the corner. He would be a good manager....I don't see it as coach. It was very poor leadership to say now it is Rondo's team.....and you are totally dismissing the TRADE TALK.....you are going to DUMP the guy..NOW it is HIS Team...?

He definetly wasnt blaming rondo. The answer was in response to a question which was "do you think Rondo was being too agressive"? Doc answered, "no, this is his team now. He needs to be agressive". Doc was basically saying Rajon is now the best player on the team and standing by Rondo's in game decisions.

One more thing..DOc Had TOM THIBIDOE at the helm, running the defense....who obviously took all that wisdom WITH him..along with Scal....unless...SCAL was the real secret element there....!!! ::)

He's said that this was Paul Pierce's team before. Because it was. I think he's trying to compliment Rondo while at the same time lighting a fire under the Big 3's asses.

Well the Patriots are Brady's team just like the Celtic's are Rondo's. Unlike the Bruins or Sox, when you take out the best player the Celtics and Pats will suffer more. Bill is not Doc, so I wouldnt expect him to flat out say that. But when the Pats lose, just like the celtics, who really gets more of the blame?
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Talk about taking Doc's quotes completely out of context.
