Trading Ray is NOT acceptable! He and Rondo are the only ones playing at an all star level and Ray can clearly keep it up. 50&/50%/17PPG is not an unreasonable stat line for him over the next few seasons. He is currently doing better than all those right now. He keeps defying age and with his lifestyle, it doesn't seem like he will slow down any time soon. Everyone on here says we don't have a 3 point threat off our bench (Before Pietrus signed) but that was because we had the BEST 3 point threat. (Although we still should've added a sharpshooter)

  • Rondo = Good
Ray's play just makes him more valuable as a trade piece.

Even if we blow it up . . .

what are we actually trying to accomplish?

At times it seems like the blow up the team ideas are just vengeful reactions to bad losses.

I chuckle at the image of Danny Ainge as a Celticsblogger running the team.  After every loss, he's running around his office frantically shouting, "Blow it up, I must blow it up!," breathlessly calling fellow GMs begging them to take our ageing has-beens or our overrated point guard off his hands . . . "pleeease!!!"  "We'll never attain the ultimate goal of reaching the lottery with these guys."
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

There could be some borderline teams who, at the deadline, think that KG could allow for a strong playoff push, even if it's off the bench.....such as Atlanta (let's say they flatten out a bit)

So, we take non-capping killing crap players and their draft pick.

We do the same with another 6th, 7th or 8th seed, trading Ray Allen for non-cap killing crap players and a draft pick...how about Indiana, N.O. or Clippers.

That would give us 4 first rounders, two of which would be combined to nab Brad Beal of Florida.  The next pick of two left would be Michael Gilchrist, and the last Patrick Young.

Amnesty Paul Pierce so he can sign with the Clippers and win another title with Ray next year.

2012/13 Celtics=

Starters:      Rondo, Beal, Jeff Green, Bass, Dwight Howard
Bench:         Dooling, Bradley/Moore, Pietrus, Patrick Young/JaJuan Johnson, Steimsa

Well if we blew it up we could get a jumpstart on the rebuilding process possibly making it quicker, instead of waiting to lose in the first or 2nd round and not get anything in return for a guy like Ray.

Some fairly realistic trades that Boston might consider

Garnett, Dooling for Hinrich, Williams, Pachulia, 1st

Allen for Korver, Watson, 1st

Allen for Maggette, Mullens

Garnett, Dooling for Beasley, Milicic, Ridnour, Webster

Pierce for Richard Jefferson, Bonnar (I'd ask for splitter, but I don't think they give him up)

Pierce for Mo Williams, Foye, Trey Thompkins
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Of course the next step is to blow it up.  That's why there is a ton of cap space for next year.  KG will not be back unless it's for $5MM per as a role player.  Same with Ray Allen.  When Ainge took over, the C's were a 5th seed type team with no hope of winning it all - just like they are now.  He proceeded to blow them up (traded Walker) and acquired young chips via the draft ... which is where this team is headed, no doubt about it.

That said, there are no trades involving Ray Allen or KG that make any sense.  There are only like 8 or fewer teams this year with any realistic chance of a title ... only those teams would trade for them.  But, I don't think any of them have expiring cap pieces that match KG or Allen's salary AND either young talent or decent draft picks.

Danny is just going to ride it out and try to get a good FA signing next year, and start over.

Pray for a miracle ...DH decides to join the Celtics, maybe if the Pope asks him persoanlly ....and build on him.......right.. I might find the Beale gold treasure before that happens too ;D.

Or bit the bullet , do what needs to be done, rebuild with quality youth and draft picks . till it gets back to where the Celtics should be.

Danny wanted CP3 , so then we didn't have to start over, but CP3 didn't want Boston. So...We got no trade assetts to land somebody like Kevin Love , ect.  Sooooooooooooooooooo..But even Bostons weather is better than MInn. who know??

Prepare to suck it up , watch us sink to rock bottom and draft our way back the ladder.
