It's not yet time to blow the whole team up.. One move can make a big difference.. DA should start with a good, reliable, young CENTER.. It's our weakest position right now.. (And please no more Perkins comments!)

Gortat would be a fantastic addition. Also, I just saw that Al Horford is out 3-4 months with a torn pectoral ... anybody down with some KG for Pachulia, or KG for Josh Smith?

The problem is the current versions of the 4 and 5 positions aren't getting it done consistently.  Both have looked washed up for the most part and I hate to say it, but they've both played soft.  Swap out JO for say....Perkins...or a physical 5 and you go a long way towards helping the situation, but that doesn't take away from the fact that KG has had a steep decline.

I'm starting to think blowing it up may be the only answer...and that would suck because I'm not up for 3+ years of crappy basketball....

Short term answer is solve the JO problem....but I don't know how you do that unless you make a swap for someone else's garbage....Wonder how Shaq's feeling these days.... ;)

Let's get Shaq and Barkley! At least they'll make the team entertaining!

Ray Allen has value to teams that need something to push them over the edge. A package could net us a pretty solid player.

sheed was a great offensive rebounder
To me it sounds like he is laying some of this blame on doc, which  is surprising.

That was surprising. Offensive rebounding and late-game offensive execution over 3 years, explicitly stated it wasn't just the personnel.

That said, we haven't had the greatest rebounders in town the last couple years.  Sheed, Baby, JO...

Kelly Dwyer from Yahoo Ball don't lie
Quote
Because of Rajon Rondo's iffy scoring touch in the half-court, Kevin Garnett's wispy frame in the post, and the sheer amount of work it takes to free Ray Allen for a shot late in games, Paul Pierce has to become more of a threat towards the end of games. It's an odd thing to say for a player that may have been the NBA's top late-game option for years, even though Boston's lean times, but the C's continue to lose close contests even though they enter the fourth with a 2.7 points per game average (good for 12th in the NBA).
Throw in the team's inability to grab second chances, and you have a frustrating 4-5 team to behold. We think Danny was being rather tactful, though, and we're also sharing in his apparent belief that the Celtics still have enough to not only make an appearance in the Eastern Conference finals or Finals, but make some noise amongst the NBA's final four in June.

Ray Allen putting up good personal numbers but at expense of overall offense. C's waste a lot of time trying to get him open. when Ray doesn't get open the offense suffers. that has been our achilles heel the Offense is too Ray Allen centric.

With the way Ray has been shooting and how inefficient kg and pierce have been on offense what choice do we really have?

Celtics offense is the problem. These HOF players shouldn't be struggling this much. KG is relegated to shooting long jump shots instead of playing in the post. Pierce doesn't get the ball enough just five shots last night.
KG is not "relegated" to shooting long jumpers. He chooses to shoot long jumpers. KG refuses to shoot down low. Often when he does, he can't finish, so perhaps that is why he is timid down low. Can't blame anyone other than KG for his lack of presence in the post.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Most likely moves or trades include JO+picks+rookies.

JO is the weak point.
KG is playing fine this year, JO has been quite terrible and is already getting nagging injuries every second game.

We need an athletic, run and gun big to horse the floor with Rondo and Jeff Green next year.
Deandre Jordan-esque.

Dunno what we need to trade/do to get someone like that.
Perhaps trade for high picks next year in all deals.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

DA, needs to start over,  the owner can't be happy, the value of his team is dropping like a rock , after all its an investment. The players values are nothing compared to what they are getting paid.  Nobody wants them

So ..........I would forget about this season, too bad , watch the old guys and be happy ....thats what everybody wanted.  Then dump them all. , see if we can get some new young players from the draft and in a few years have some talent worth trading the right parts to piece together a banner team.
Right now this group is stinking up the court.

Danny for the owners sake will have to clean house , its the only way to be sure.
