Cause we certainly did not need a shooting guard who is averaging 14ppg off the bench.
Certainly. I mean, it's not like we're striving to have a better record the New Jersey Nets anyhow.

Eww, I just hope that the coaching staff and players for the Boston Celtics have a different mindset than many of the fans right now.

When you are competing athletically, I was always taught that giving up was really the last thing you wanted to do regardless of the odds.

Luckily, I don't believe that Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and the rest of the Celtics share that loser mindset that so many of their fans have embraced.

SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Fans are not competing, therefore they can have whatever mindset their little heart desires. Taking the ostrich approach with respect of the issues this team is facing doesn't help.

Doesn't help what?  As to your point, I'm not playing.

I'm not calling for my team to give up either, though.  To each his own, I guess.

No-one is calling for their team to give up. But I don't see how this should stop anyone from observing we are really, really mediocre at this point.

Actually, many posters are calling for this team to give up.  I take posts claiming that we should "blow it up" and aim for the lottery as giving up.

I recognize that this team looks mediocre at this point in time, but I also recognize that we have the talent to make some noise in the playoffs if our top guys can find some rhythm when it matters.

We are clearly not a great team right now.  We may never reach that point this season, but I think it's just too early to tell.

Short. Succinct. Accurate.

We are currently in the eighth seed. We are a game and half out of the seventh seed. We have no wins against teams that have better than a .500 record.

This team is old, has a horrible bench because we were capped out and is not winning anything this year.

Time to sell off parts and rebuild.

Seriously, does anyone really think we are winning a title this year?

Horrible bench  ??? With Pietrus back, this is one of the best second units in the game. Unfortunately, the bench has not been the problem. Bass, dooling, Steamer player better than expected and Daniels and Pietrus doing their thing.

It's our starters, flat out. If you listened to Doc's post game last night, one thing stuck out. Rebounding. Offensive, no those just come when they come as Doc said, its defensive boards he looks at. We give those up, thats an extra shot ans 24 seconds from the clock. 12 offensive boards to Dallas? Not acceptable when you give guys like Dirk and Jet another shot. This is seriously a problem and Doc needs to hammer this home with these guys.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I suppose you think Dooling outplayed Delonte?

For the time played he outplayed him, most definitely.  Give Dooling another ten minutes and he would have most definitely.  He got his in 13 minutes not close to 30.

Dooling was a disaster as a PG.  He played decent pressure defense and hit some key 3s, but he was an abject failure as a floor general.

Bewildered at Ainge/Doc's preference for Dooling over West, unless they were scared of Delonte's health.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I give them the benefit of the doubt that they were concerned enough about DW's offcourt challenges, as well as his penchant for injury, to opt for the less talented Dooling.

There are 12-15 teams better than the Celtics right now and there will be at least 8-10 better than them by the end of the year.

The bench is not horrible, but it is not very good. Chris Wilcox looks like he could be the new waste of money on the bench, while Keyon Dooling has no clue how to run an offense. Avery Bradley plays solid D, but is a disaster on offense. Stiemsma blocks shots, will occasionally hit a jumper and has been a nice surprise. Bass has been the only dependable guy off the bench. Quisy, in a word, has been awful.

We need to see more of Pietrus -- he was a nice little spark last night and played solid D.

What will you say after an eight game Celtics winning streak? Number Eighteen here we come? All teams have slumps.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
