Ohmigod, he had a dunk in garbage time! Let's start him right now!

lol....thats what i was thinking

This exact line  of thinking is why all our young players waste away on the bench and we work our older players who can't jump or run or do much of ANYTHING at this point into oblivion.

Yep. Keep playing KG. Keep getting the same result.
Or play Johnson, get worse result.

what's worst than losing anyway?

LOL...didn't even think about that. There is no worse result. SMH.

lol agreed

Frustrating how Doc is still following his big 4 + sixth man formula when half the big 4 is struggling like crazy. Bass and KG were cold in the beginning, JJJ could have played.

doc simply has no interest in taking opportunities to develop young players.  in a game like this when it was clear the team had little chance to come back, he should have just mixed some of the younger guys into the rotation for 10-20 minutes to see what they could do.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

There's no way you can assume the result would be worse.  KG is so limited on offense and JJJ (i hate to say it) would probably be more effective.  And for everyone who is so convinced that KG is still such an elite defender, watch the games.  He can't defend anyone right now.  Pretty sure JJJ won the Big Ten defensive player of the year last year too.

Can't blame Doc for playing his main squad. He's probably trying to get them back on track, which might be more important right now than playing the youngsters. We need the oldies to play, and play well. They're not going to get better by sitting on the bench. They're worth too much money for that.

I know the "they only get better by playing" thing goes for the youngsters just as much, but right now, our priority should be the big 3 and JO, perhaps Bass, Pietrus and maybe Avery, then maybe Wilcox and Stiemsma.

That's where expectations lie, that's where it's gotta come from.

Having said that, I'm in favor of playing JJ and Moore more as well, perhaps just not *yet*.

Yeah, I did like what I saw from him. He'll get comfortable with the NBA game with his minutes, slowly but surely.

what ur failing to recognize is the mentality of the team.  mentally, they are in a "win now, its our last opportunity" frame of mind...doc included.  in a game with one of the best teams in the nba and a comeback that brought them within one point, doc shouldn't put him in.  its one thing to give him a few minutes a game here and there, depending on the opponent and circumstance, but if he remains unproven and u throw him in the with the wolves before he is ready, it will be detrimental to both jjj and the team.  doc may see flaws/issues during practice, which negate from putting him in the game. i trust doc.

So far Doc's given Avery Bradley and Greg Stiemsa significant burn.  He's playing Bradley over Daniels and has played Stiemsa over Wilcox (even though, the Steamer didn't see the floor last night.)  It's not the case that the youth is completely buried.

That said, I'd love to see him work Triple J in there at some point.

Well if we lose games with starters, why not get Moore and JJJ to lose them.

if Doc won't play rookies, why is Greg Stiemsma playing?

I don't buy it, if he's not playing, its because he can't contribute right now, that's it

exactly!

people will bring up he doesn't play rookies, but when we stunk and were young before the big three, rookies played.

since the big 3, what rookies/young guys have we had that could contribute...rondo, and he played.

the rookies that have been drafted since the big 3 have sucked and many of them are no longer in the nba. i trust doc's judgement

Yes, we've lost some games, but we haven't been trying to lose them.
