  • GOT IT!!!
Dallas was playing on the second night of a back to back. C's looked like they ran a marathon before the game. I think the team may be in worse shape than many of us thought. They looked like a lottery team most of the night.

Pierce is clearly not near game shape yet...it was clear how horribly he played and the fact that Doc played pietrus well into the fourth in his place.

generally that is when Pierce shines...I think it may take until February/march for pierce to be back to the player he is accustomed to being

They are worse than I thought no center. No backup point guard and some old stars. It is astounding they lost tonight, but neither of these teams is a serious contender. All good things come to an end and we are watching it.

honestly, i dont think the celts are breaking down or are even as bad as they look currently.

I think we've got an old team that is accustomed to easing into the season with a nice long off-season/pre-season.

they got thrust into this, and youve got Pierce playing only his 5th game after his FIRST practices of the season...in a way, the players shouldve been more prepared..because having to basically use this time as a "pre-season" to get guys in shape is hurting the team.

Sadly, I think this is the essence of it.  At the start of the season I was all for an all-in, win-now trade to set up an immediate rebuild after this season, but now I'm not sure if it'd even be worth it.  If this continues, they might as well just start rebuilding before the season even ends.

Seriously, though, we're probably look at a 4-8 team a week from now.  4-8.  Unbelievable.

After all this rest and practice and at home against a tired team.... They should have not only won the game , it shouldn't have been even close .

To win we need 15-25 points  EVERY FREAKIN NITE from the BIG THREE , Kobe is still getting it done for LA , and their winning.

Our four old guys need to goto a REST HOME , not a NBA team.
Please retire and give us a break.

No more excuses can be made. If KG and Pierce can't get their shot, drive to the basket for the fouls. I don't care if 20+ points come at the free throw line. We can't rely on Rondo to put up 24 and do his assists each night. He isn't Bob Cousy.

Yup.  If the team hasn't improved much by the deadline, maybe see if you can get some picks or something decent for Ray Allen, but you aren't going to be able to do much.  Try and carve out some playing time for JJJ; play Bass or KG at the 5 spot a little more and try and find him JJJ 10 minutes or so a game to get his feet wet.

But, not much else you can do this year.  Don't sacrifice picks/young guys to marginally improve the bench.  Don't dump Rondo for cap space (but this summer, it's time to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. or get off the pot with him - time to decide if you can rebuild around him or not).

Don't tank.  There's enough talent (and more important - PRIDE!) where they aren't going to get a top-5 pick.  Take your chances, if you squeeze into the playoffs, great - give us one last run.

The way KG and even PP are playing though 9 games this season, I'm not even sure if we could get any decent Draft Pick(s) for them for talent alone (even ignoring KG's bloated $20m or whatever contract) that'd be worth trading for. Who would want them? There's a reason the C's seem so mediocre at best right now.

Although Ray Allen has been as efficient offensively as ever though 9 games this season. He seems to be the only one who gave a crap about being in shape during this lockout season.

And the Mavs played without their starting point guard to night to top things off.

you have no idea what youre talking about

rondo is so far averaging 20 ppg and his one of the highest scoring guards in the league

his past means nothing because he continues to improve.... he is entering his prime
