If he got paired with a banger like Dwight, he would be a really good player. Might motivate him too.

Meh.  He's such a poor rebounder despite being a 7 footer, I just don't see how he could get that kind of recognition from coaches.

Ryan Anderson of the Magic, playing next to Dwight Howard, is putting up 18-7 with 25 PER.

He's slowly turning into a 'Dirk'.. I just hope he won't do a 'Bosh'!

Example:

Bargnani has played 27 minutes tonight against the Wizards and brought down a whopping 2 rebounds.  Two rebounds in 27 minutes is unacceptable for a 7 footer, regardless of opponent, but especially against such a feckless, discombobulated group as the Wizards.

If I were Toronto I'd trade him while he's hot...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If I were Toronto I'd trade him while he's hot...

I wonder what his value would be around the league. Would he be considered an all-around big man 'star' that you could build a team around or a 3rd/4th best player on a very good team? I tend to lean towards the latter. It's not a bad idea, as Toronto is going nowhere fast, but he is still very young and producing.

I wonder too what his value is.  I would think he'd bring back a quite a bit in a trade to some team that needs scoring more than toughness....especially now while he's on a hot streak.

I'm not down on him exactly, I just think Toronto needs to start over.  And I think they could get a lot for him.

He's really inconsistent with his rebounding. Last night he grabbed 9 and the night before 11 and then a dumbfounding 2 tonight. That's what I don't really understand.

Any team with a really good rebounding and defensive starting PF would greatly benefit his offensive skills and mismatches that he'll bring. His rebounding and slow rotation is pretty much his only flaw. His one on one defense is solid enough and we all know he can drop 25 a night no problem.

I think the guy is terrible. The only reason he gets so many points is cause he is getting so many shots playing for the Raptors.

High shots will get you big point numbers. Dude is soft and cant play a lick of defense.

He gets high shots because nobody is good enough to score on that team.  It's not his fault he has no legit teammates. By the way, he shoots at 51% which is really efficient. And the dude is a solid one on one defender, while playing out of position. His help d though is really suspect and rebounding pretty inconsistent but the guy is a stud. He can be a really big help, like a Robin to some other team but I don't see him as a Batman.

23 ppg 23.63 PER. Hes dope.
I don't see how those stats are going to make him one of the top 2 vote-getters. Are those stats better than what Lebron and Melo have?

I haven't seen much of the Raptors this season but I have read that Bargnani has improved his defense some + that Casey has installed some of the action Dallas used with Dirk and that that has helped Bargnani offensively. His shooting percentages are certainly way up from where they were last season (without Bosh around to create shots for him and others).

Looking forward to seeing more of him as the year goes on to see where his defense is at.

well hes shooting 51% from the field, so hes making a lot of those shots. I wonder how he would look on that chicago team. That would certainly solve their 2nd option problem. I wonder how much he would affect their team defense.

doesnt matter what lebron and melo have because bargnani plays the 4. The other contenders for the starting 4 in the all star game are chris bosh and amare stoudemire who both are averaging 2 points less than him. I recognize thats only 1 category but hes playing really well.
