I'm all for Stiemsma starting -- JO plays bench-type minutes anyway, around 20 per game, and playing with the Big 4 would cover for a lot of Stiemsma's inexperience. This would also give the second unit more a post presence with JO, and give JO more offensive opportunities.

I'm ready to start Stiemer and bring JO off the bench.  It's the only way Doc can discipline himself to give Stiemer regular minutes, it'll add JO's experience to the second team, and it'll give the team an energy guy who is complementary to the other starters' games.

I also want one of Pierce, Ray or Rondo in when the second unit is in too.  That rather than trying to force develop a hockey-style second line will give the team real balance for 48 minutes.

At first I was like  ??? but then I see it. Just like when Pierce was out, Doc started Pav over Quisy since he thought Quisy could make a bigger impact in the bench rotation.

And ts true JO plays bench minutes basically. I'm all for starting Stiemsma but his post d still needs work. Kinda like McGee, if he doesnt block it, it's somehow an easy layup.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

greg had energy in every game that he played if he can focus more on rebounding he can be a starter for sure and JO will do that second unit good

I'm in.  I think it would be a good idea.  I think it would improve our bench and hopefully it wouldn't hurt our starting lineup's production too much.

The kid's passed every test he's been given as a pro so far.  I say give it a shot, Doc.

I think we should start a lucky fang from the audience at PF just so that we can appreciate KG better. I say give it a shot Doc! Yeah!  ::)

Come on now. Despite what you may think of Greg Stiemsa's game, I don't think there are very many fans in the seats at the TD BankNorth on any given night who could give us over two blocks a game in less than 15 minutes.

Jermaine O'Neal gives us 1.6 blocks per game, and unlike Stiemsma, he doesn't get tossed around like a rag doll on defense. Also, his shot blocking numbers are not skewed by a single six-block game.

Stiemsma is a great find for someone who came for free off the scrap heap, but he's not starting material at this stage of his career.

With KG helping him out defensively, I think he could be adequate.  Also, it strikes me that having JO come in off the bench and match up against the opposition's second unit might help him regain his confidence and his form some.

I'm not saying play Greg Stiemsa for 30 minutes a night, but he's already in the rotation, and I think it might be a worthwhile idea.

There's not much chance of this happening anyway.  So it's kind of a moot point, but there's no need to start mocking people for being compelled by an interesting idea to shake up the line up a little.

If it's about combinations, do we like

KG+Steimer
and
JO+Bass

better than

KG+JO
Bass+Steimer

Perhaps KG can team better with Steimer than Bass at this point and can bring him along quickly,

while Bass and JO could form a potent offensive and defensive combo for stretches.  He can make up for Bass' defensive lapses better than KG due to be ing more physical.

And there would be no KG at center with Bass getting beat up.

End games with KG/JO.

Where does Wilcox fit in?  Does he slip in for either KG or JO when they take nights off?  He's not exactly young, either, right?

Or does he team with JJJ for garbage time?
