I did not miss him in my NBA 2k12 fantasy draft got him 3rd round only rated 68 in game but he is the 5th leading scorer in our league.

Deadly from mid range in that game.  He is the leading scorer on my Celtics team.  He and Steph Curry are the highest scoring duo  ;D

Why do people keep saying "its cause Brooks plays for the Nets!"?
Mostly because up to now all he's shown is the capability to be a volume shooter.

He's been pretty efficient so far but I get your point.

He's putting up 14 points on 11 shots in ~23 minutes of action up to this point, FWIW. The problem is that he's got something like 5 assists in 8 games which may be ok for someone like Brandon Bass, but is pretty bad for a guard.

He is a SG clearly not a PG.   His job is too score and any assists are gravy.  Dwill is supposed to get the assists.  The game he played against us I thought he played within the offense and didn't force stuff.

Perhaps it is too early to say we "missed" out on him. But I still would have liked to see him on the C's because he's what our bench needs.

Maybe we drafted JJJ for 3 or 4 years down the line.

But I don't think we drafted a rookie 4 who doesn't have the body or size to help our bigs which is pretty thin at the moment.

Brooks doesn't just score....he scores effortlessly.

With time, practice, experience, and work ethic he can be an elite scorer in my mind.

I admit I'm not a fan of college ball and do not follow it at all....but the program at Providence can't be that bad right?

Brooks was 2nd in scoring to some guy named Fredette if I recall correctly.

Yes, it's hard to judge a player by how he plays in college.. Adam Morrison also averaged 25+, as well as our very own Lester Hudson, and you all know how they panned out in the NBA .. But I think Marshon is different, he's an NBA scorer..

Not really, his role is to score. So unless he forces shots against double and triple teams his low assists is not that bad as long as he's scoring efficiently (46% is pretty okay). He gets fed the ball to score, not to create for others.

We missed out on this kid, bad.

Pierce's job is just to score too and he has 15 more assists in 3 less games.

I like Brooks too, but I'm not gonna make any assumptions until I've seen a lot more of Jajuan.

Kid is scoring 21 pts per 36 minutes and is doing so efficiently (20+ PER).  That's enough for me to say he's a steal for the Nets where they got him.  If MarShon had been a lottery pick, he'd be playing starter minutes instead of backup minutes, and he'd be leading all rookies in scoring.

Lester Hudson played for Tennessee-Martin, in the Ohio Valley Conference, in college.

Yup. Also one other skill Brooks hasnt shown yet is his ability to rebound. His long arms made him a terrific rebounder in college and I think that can translate well to the NBA.

Also lighting it up: MIL's Jon Leurer and MIN's Rubio.

I really wanted the Cs to draft Leuer I thought he would fit into our offense right away but johnson was second on my wish list so i was happy. Brooks is a good scorer but the nba is full of guys who if they are given minutes can score, dont get me wrong i think Brooks is and will be a solid pro for years to come but i have no issue with the JJJ trade. With a little seasoning (bigs take longer to adjust to nba) and some added strength JJJ will be a nice rotational big who can shoot, defend and run the floor.

That's really really great. But scorers need not to average 4-5 assists a game. Like I said, as long as he does not force it on double or triple teams and scoring pretty efficiently, which he does, i can live with the low assists count.
