They got beat 109-94 by the hawks. Another one of these good eastern teams. i'm not putting nails in their or the celtics coffin.

This would mean more if they scored 25 in a half and were beaten by the pacers...

Still, though, I'm not counting the Cs out. Yet.

I watched the game. It was a far worse beating than the final score suggests.
It really means nothing to me. I expected this season to be a mess and it is so far.
We'll see how good teams are in the playoffs.

Were the wins all against quality opponents?

We lost to Knicks by two, who had an awesome shooting night (once every 3-4 games as you can see now) without Pierce (yes, he is that important), and Heat again without Pierce with both games supported heavily by the refs. Supporting our loss, that is. NOLA was an expected development after the 2 games, and knowing this team.

Excuses, excuses! When a team is done they´re done. I´m sorry there won´t be a 18th banner with this group of players.

Feel free to come back in june to make me eat my words after a miracle happened and the Celtics just won no 18!

Make that the 7-2 Bulls, who are scoring about the same as the C's--but holding opponents to 8 fewer points.

I know we are only 1/8th through the season but:

-There are two teams ahead of the celtics in the division
-There are eight teams ahead of the celtics in the conference
-There are fifteen teams ahead of the celtics in the league

It may be time to accept that this team isn't very good relative to its competition.

im sorry, but this is just a weird season...I think its rediculous to say were done so soon into it.

you look around the league and the Knicks are 3-4, Lakers 5-4, Mavs 3-5 and I just see alot of good teams that are struggling right out of the gate...and I dont think any of those teams are done either.

now, if the celtics look like this 20-30games into the season i'll start to agree...but for all we know they could go on a run and win a bunch of games.

The Chicago bulls for anyone who has watched them certainly have not looked that great offensively, but their defense and youth/athleticism is what has allowed them to have a nice 7-2 record

its easly grasping at straws to say the celtics are done 8games into the season and saying you cant compare other teams losing to the celts as if we are in a bubble in this weird season.

we still IMO are the 3rd best team in the east...and I dont think the bulls are "that" much better than us...just younger/more athletic which allows them to win the games we lose...they couldve easily lost to the lakers/Atlanta first time...but their defense allowed them to hang on in both

not all, no . . . but they have more wins against quality opponents than the Celtics (the C's have none).

Bulls have beaten the Hawks, Lakers, Magic, Clippers, and Grizzlies.

Make that the 7-2 Bulls, who are scoring about the same as the C's--but holding opponents to 8 fewer points.

Yeah, what the Bulls have going for them is that they're a truly elite defensive team (the C's aren't anymore -- just a pretty decent defensive squad), and they have an elite 1-on-1 scorer, plus a couple solid complementary scorers, one on the wing and one in the post.

Their offense overall is just about average, but late in a close game they have somebody they can rely on to make tough shots against any defense.  They also tend to have significant leads late because of their elite defense, so they're in close games less often.

The C's don't have a player they can lean on for buckets late in a tight game -- and they tend to be in tight games late much more often.

Philly is not gonna win the division, and the Knicks have the same record we do at 4-4.

Cleveland will probably not even make playoffs once the season is over.

Its too early in the season to be scared by "stats and standings"

by half of the season then we should start worrying.

That's a BS way to look at our Team.  I don't care if the rest of the league sucks or not.  If our team looks like they have all year (0 and 4 against good teams) and keeps it up for another month - BLOW IT UP DANNY.  I don't compare myself to others - I compare myself to how I "should" be playing !!!!!!!!
