if he gets his first playing time as a celtic next wednesday....especially with the ineffectiveness offensively so far from Marquis daniels/bradley..

I think as a shooter pietrus could be a nice offensive spark. what we miss on our 2nd unit since the departure of Eddie House..is that 2nd guy who can knock down 3's besides Dooling. pietrus provides that and should give us some good floor spacing

he could be a nice 1-2 punch offensively with Bass for the 2nd unit. hes not someone to take players 1-1 off the dribble but much like ray allen his offensive game excels on coming off screens so we could potentially rest ray

He can hit the corner 3 and slash. Not a great midrange shooter, but he can finish on the break and play tenacious D. Looking forward to him playing too.

He might be a good compliment to Marquis.

Hope Air France is close to 100%.

I just hope he brings defensive intensity and hits a clutch 3 now and again.

If he can play anywhere near the level he was playing at during the '09 playoffs I would extremely happy.

you need Michael Jordan to compliment Marquis.

i was really hoping for him to play well. but man, all those layups he keeps missing.
at this point Peitrus with a bad knee will be an upgrade.

  • Rondo = Good
Keep your expectations low and i think you won't be disappointed.

Pietrus should provide some solid "3 and D" in 15-20 minutes a night, but I'm not looking for much more beyond that.

My expectation is that I would not be surprised if it takes him a few weeks to get into game shape.  There's going to be a lot of panicked monkeys jumping around here for my amusement if Pietrus looks slow right out of the gate.

I'm not sure anyone should expect offensive spark from Pietrus.

I'm also not so sure about the offensive spark we got from House. House could light it up, but we still had many droughts when he was here. Maybe that is just the nature of bench play on defensive teams. The bench players are going to be lesser players and if we are emphasizing defense, we can expect lesser offense.

hes looked good shooting the ball before the games...theres really no telling that he'll look bad out there.

now, im not expecting 09 pietrus..but he is someone who can knock down the open shot..and its going to be nice seeing Pietrus take those instead of Marquis going forward

Pietrus will fit in nicely because he's a "no-mistake" guy in this system. The problem is he's low impact, so if the bench is struggling he can't pick up any pieces.

Either way, 3-and-D guys are always nice to have around for a championship team.

I don't even care too much about his offensive (I figure he's got to spread the floor better than Marquis, but likely isn't nearly as intelligent off the ball and skilled as a ball handler and creator with the ball).  I'll be very happy if he's our best bench perimeter defender and really can give Paul and Ray good rests against some of the league's tough guys like Wade, James, Anthony, Bryant, and Durant.

I guess I've got pretty high expectations.

He was the last resort on Magic team we easily dumped into a puddle 2 years ago. Why does everyone have think we'll become an incredible team with Pietrus' return all of a sudden...
