Yeah lets look at this in perspective. Pierce was basically a no show in all of those games. He literally didn't play in the Ny or Miami game. He was 3 of 17 in today's game. The Center position is a worry, but I don't know what you can expect to get for JOs expiring now. Most teams aren't looking for expiring contracts until the trade deadline.

the team has no depth whatsoever.  Beyond Bass it's a joke.  It's so bad that Greg Stiemsma not only got a roster spot, but actually has played minutes.  Can't win a title being this thin.

better question: can the Celtics expect to get a top 4 seed and win a playoff series being this thin?

im really starting to think that if they actually want to make the most of this year they're going to need to make a trade to become more balanced and get some youth / depth.  that probably means trading Rondo.

maybe we can entice the Rockets to give us Lowry and one of their young big men for Rondo + picks + JO.

Rockets are probably too smart to do that, though.  I'm not sure Rondo is that big of an upgrade over Lowry.

The only thing our bench is missing (besides PIE obviously) is a good center. I thought Wilcox was going to be better than he is but... wow, when a guy who spent MOST of his time in the D-League is showing more than you and taking your minutes... something is wrong! I also think a problem is JO as our starter, he would be excellent off the bench but I think we need a bruiser to go with the BIG4... not only a bruiser but someone who can give a consistent 10pts or so a night!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

If they don't start rebounding better against good teams they will be lucky to finish at .500

Which of Houston's young bigs are you interested in?  The best of the bunch, in my opinion, is Jordan Hill, and as far as I can tell he doesn't look all that special.

I agree with jpd985, if someone doesn't turn on the weak side defensive rebounding switch we are in for a lot more of games like tonight.

I was so frustrated watching the pacers get 2nd and 3rd chances all night.  You aren't going to beat anyone with such poor effort / sloppy blocking out.  It wasn't like there was 1 or 2 guys to single out either, the whole team was bad at going after the boards.  I don't know if it is just the issue of KG / JO having no lift, or bad technique or what.  Rebounding is the same as defense, 80% effort and desire.  It definitely wasn't there tonight.

patrick patterson would be my choice.

but i guess for a win-now trade we'd want Dalembert

I don't have a trade idea but... I want to know how do we get Gortat... any ideas? I think he is a piece to help us beat these teams. He looks to hit hard (from what I have seen) he's adequate defensively and he can score the ball. What do you guys think?

Win now? You think swapping Rondo and JO for Lowry and Dalembert makes us more of a contender than we currently are?

Absolutely.  Legitimate starting center and a point guard who can score, rebound, pass, and defend . . . and hit his free throws.
