He always stated he wanted to have as many rings as Kobe.

Nothing to lose!!

He would take up space and proved 6 hard fouls

He couldn't play last year due to his body breaking down, no way he could get himself in shape to play even a third C role without having a similar issue.

That's what we said last years playoffs when he came back and we def would have been better with out him. If hes even close to that shape again this year than it would make sense.

Not to mention theres no chance out would happen anyway

Saw a video clip of him playing basketball while he was vacationing in the Caribbean. He looked like he had added another 30 pounds on that frame.

If Shaq had Ray's work ethic, I'd be all for it; however, I can't imagine he I going to be anywhere near ready given that he wasn't even in great shape when he did play full time.

But who knows, maybe he'll join Sir Charles on Weight Watchers, and if he did, I'd think about bringing him back (despite being highly unlikely). In my opinion, the Core Four plus Shaq was the best lineup of the Big Three Era and could've won the NBA title if healthy.

Shaq will probably never be in playing-shape again.

In fact, he is probably going to get increasingly worse every year until they take him off tv

He couldn't play last year due to his body breaking down, no way he could get himself in shape to play even a third C role without having a similar issue.

He played fine in the first half of last season though.  Shaq can't give anybody a full season or even half a season, but I think he could be effective for 30 games.

I'd say he gave us a solid 35 games last year (he played 36 of the first 48 for a 26-10 record, and 35 of those he gave us double digit minutes).  He only missed time on 3 occasions in the first half, one stretch of 5 games in November, a stretch of 4 games in December, and a stretch of 3 games in January.

If we got the Shaq from the end of October to the beginning of February last year for this years playoffs, we'd be doing pretty good.

I think it's fair to assume we could get a solid 30 games from Shaq.  At the max, the playoffs could only last for 28 games.  Let Shaq play the last 4-5 games of the regular season (and probably give him the first round too) to shake off the rust, and then hope his body holds up during the playoffs.  If he started getting in shape mid-to-late March at the latest it could work.  I'd be down for this.  :)

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Bring him back as what? A guest color commentator?

I'd be fully in favor of it, but only for one or two games. Eventually hearing shaq tell stories about himself and completely ignoring the game in front of him would get tedious.

No Shaq, we don't care about what 'Hoopz' gave you for Christmas. I don't know what you give the man who has anything, but neither do I care!

You invented a time machine???? Or the Wolverine pill??

Have you seen him on TNT??? Guy has put some extra weight on that already huge body. No way he would have enough time getting in shape now with the short season.

Don't get me wrong, I love Shaq and wish he could have stayed health last year, but I think Barkley is closer to helping out the C's than he is right now.

Shaq might eat his way off of TV unless he slows down. He certainly has eaten himself out of the league.
