And if he doesn't receive one by January 15th he won't resign long-term.

IMO Celtics should give him max money and build a team with him and Rondo. He's averaging 25.4 ppg this season and over 15 rebounds a game. Somethings that's bound to improve with age especially if he has a point guard like Rondo hucking him the ball.

There will be plenty of competition for Love if he hits the free agent market, but his skills and efficiency fits DA's advanced metrics.  He would be a great fit with Rondo moving forward.  The problem is the Wolves can just match whatever offer the Cs make and that actually would work in their favor since it would be for a smaller max deal than the Wolves can offer him now.  Love will have to force his way out.

The wolves arent gonna let this guy go.

We'd have to wait until the following season for him to become a UFA.  Not gonna happen bc the Wolves are gonna give him the extension and hes gonna sign it bc the teams headed in a good direction.

No way does Minnesota fail to offer Love an extension.

Not even they could screw that up.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Yeah. Maybe they'll figure this one out now that the guy is making public threats after they waited so long

Don't forget, we are talking about David Kahn here. They most assuredly could screw it up and probably will.

Though ultimately Love could make the most money playing in 'Sota, he is a west coast guy and maybe he would prefer to take the qualifying offer next year and see what unrestricted free agency has to offer in 2013.

I read an article a week or two ago that said Love's agent was still determining his market value and they were not interested in signing until that task was completed.  Translation - we want to see if anyone is willing to give us a max contract.  If you recall just a few year ago it was the same issue with Rondo.  His agent said Rondo was a max player, the C's disagreed, and no teams jumped on a S&T at max so he ended up signing for much less.

I think he'll be a Laker. :(  I read on Realgm that the Lakers tried to trade Gasol for Love.

Now that worries me.  I could see Kahn trading Love for Gasol thinking that it would make sense to pair Rubio with a fellow Spaniard with whom he is familiar, trying to be competitive now instead of waiting

Then, the Lakers trade Bynum to the Magic for Dwight Howard and suddenly they have a ridiculously dominant frontcourt of Love and Dwight Howard (a more perfect match I could not imagine).

I keep thinking about how everyone thought McHale was incredibly stupid for trading OJ Mayo for Love. Not looking so stupid after all...
