Before the big 3, we were just happy to win any game.

heck, i was happy if the Celtics stayed competitive with a team like San Antonio for 3 quarters. Or if a young player "showed potential."
Celtics fan for life.

I am not complacent, I'm grateful. Grateful that I got to watch the Pierce-Garnett-Allen Celtics compete year in and year out. June 17 2008 was one of the happiest days of my life. We watched our heroes get their recognition, we watched them earn their battle scars.
No one can ever take that away from us. And that's a beautiful feeling. So yeah, I am very grateful.

Been reading all the replys and i am more firm in my conviction that i did indeed take everything for granted, i didnt get a chemical release (Joy/Adrenalin) when we would win because i had trained my brian into thinking, championship or bust but basketball has to be about something else than that, it cant just be about the end goal.

Had a chat with my dad and asked him how he dealt with the team hitting a rough spot after following for many years and he just replyed "thats where passion and belief comes in, a dept felt passion for your team and maybe a certain player, an underdog story, rooting for an unlikely hero" he patted me on my back and said, it will come back again with a smile.

I actualy remembered that i would sit and watch Glen Davis on most nights during the 2008 run, cheering for this unlikely hero harder than anything else. I would litterly fist bump thin air in excitment when something succeded for him. I havnt done that since.

Anyway.. i allready decided i want to get back to that place again, that positive place where even the smallest things gives me that same kick again.

And i just want to say again, thank you so much for your thoughts on the matter, there's alot of wisdom and experience to be had on this board, if only your looking for it. Thank you all, so very much.
"Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It`s being able to take it as well as dish it out. That`s the only way you`re going to get respect from the players"
