I'm sure this has been brought up before.  I was just looking at my fantasy team this week when I did a double take... Atlanta plays 5 games in 6 nights.

Jan 2nd - @ Miami
Jan 3rd - @ Chicago
-
Jan 5th - Miami
Jan 6th - @ Charlotte
Jan 7th - Chicago

BRUTAL.  Not to mention it's Miami and Chicago twice each.  OUCH!  I knew the NBA was going to have every team play at least one back-to-back-to-back, but that's just ridiculous.

Looks like Boston will have a 5 in 6 too late this season:

April 13th - @ Toronto
April 14th - @ New Jersey
April 15th - @ Charlotte
-
April 17th - @ Knicks
April 18th - Orlando

... But hopefully our fate is already sealed at that point and we can use those games to either tank for a top lotto pick or rest our guys for the playoffs.

At least with the celtics one they aren't huge flights with jersey, Charlotte and Toronto kind of close together and not strong teams...

The Atlanta one is just cruel...especially when you throw in two flights to florida....

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Wow that is a brutal stretch for Atlanta right there. 4 games out of your 5 games in 6 nights being against Miami or Chicago? Yikes.

Celts schedule in April is pretty brutal too... 4 straight away games, 3 back to back to back will be a rough stretch for us.

Jan 2 @ Miami? I thought it was a back to back game with Washington? The coming 5 games isn't bad until we hit Dallas followed by Chicago

I really despise the condensed schedule but it was necessary evil after the lockout unless the league felt like having Finals games in August.  :P

I think the OP is talking about his fantasy team and Atlanta's schedule, not the Celts. :)

Wow, that's unfortunate for Atlanta.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

TP. The Celtics got lucky on their 5 in 6 part of the schedule. You can run out a team of D-Leaguers and stay competitive with the Bobcats if they're not on their game that day.

This is why there will be a lot more "parity" in the NBA this season as far as regular season record is concerned.  A lot more teams will be finishing with the equivalent of 30-45 wins.

The Celtics will be one of the many teams that will have a much worse winning percentage than they might have had in regular-length season.

Come playoff time, there will probably be a number of "upsets" based on record simply because some teams will greatly overachieve in the condensed regular season (e.g. Nuggets, Magic, Hawks) and others will greatly underachieve (e.g. Mavs, Celtics).

the real question is to what degree are Doc/Danny going to be willing to do what needs to be done and give our starters some needed rest during that stretch.  Pick two games beforehand and just say our second unit is going to play majority mins.  I can't see, unless there are a couple of freak injuries, how the C's won't be in the playoff hunt at all

Could happen if the team is struggling (hovering around .500) near the trade deadline and Danny just blows it up somehow.
