I'd love to see the Wolves make some moves to get a real defensive center and some better wing defenders.
Yeah, spot on.

Hey look at that, a playoff team!

Seriously . . .

Rubio / Ridnour / Barea
Ariza / Ellington / Bellineli
Williams / Webster
Love / Randolph
Okafor / Tolliver

Oh my!

Minnesota is probably the last team New Orleans wants to trade with, though.

I don't understand.  The Hornets are league owned / operated.  Does the league have something against the T-Wolves?

They own the Twolves #1 this year.  Making them better is a really bad idea.

Ahh.  Good point.  I had forgotten about that.

Though if the T-Wolves are already looking decent anyway, possibly the T-Wolves could sweeten the deal further and just trade for their own #1 back.  Or they could include future picks.

I don't think it's a non-starter because of that, necessarily, but certainly undercuts it.

  • The good ole days.
Yes indeed!

First time I've been really excited as a Wolves fan since about 2005.

Kevin Love is turning into an absolute force and Rubio is looking very mature already (I expected him to be a bust but have been fairly thrilled so far).  Derek Williams has been impressive in flashes too and I actually think he can be a legit small forward in the NBA (I thought he was a 3/4 tweener, like Beasley, and wasn't too high on him).  A cagey veteran defender or two would be great........ too early to say KG comes back in a reduced role off the bench next year???

If KG isn't playing for the Celtics next year, I'm sure he'll have retired.  I doubt KG has much interest in playing out his career like Kurt Thomas.

Rick Aldeman is doing a nice job as head coach, he has a lot of young talents to work with

Rubio will be extremely fun to watch, Love will likely have a similar season and the rest of their roster are really good, give another season and they can be really good,

I'd go as far as top 5 seed if they are also able to add a veteran big man to that team

They have Brad Miller, i just dunno when he can play (injury).. I think waht they need is a SG.. They should trade Beasley or Randolph for a good scoring 2..

maybe these are questions best answered by Big Ticket (unless someone else here is watching the wolves on a nightly basis), but what is the deal with Darko?

Despite playing in 69 games, injuries seemed to hamper what was looking to be a promising season for him last year.  I expected that, with the infusion of young and emerging talent this year, he would continue to progress and maybe even get into the 10ppg range this year.

He seems to be shooting the ball effectively and scoring at a reasonable rate, yet his mpg are waaay down.  Has his defense regressed that much? Is he in the dog house?

I think Darko is too damaged psychologically to ever fulfill his potential.

Too much time in bad situations. Too much criticism. Too many personal failures. I think Darko has crept to far inside his own head and I don't see him coming back out again.

He is what he is. Not expecting any more out of him.

Saw them versus Dallas. Love is a beast. His rebounding, scoring and now his 3pt shot. Rubio should be playing more and you can see the talent. Williams also looks good in flashes. They have a good three man core there.
