A lot of people are talking about Westbrook for Rondo in a trade. Even DA tried to do it. Im not sure right now would be the right time to pull that trigger though.

Westbrook is a great player don't get me wrong, but his head seems to be a little less screwed on than Rondo's at this point. Im sure Doc and get him on the right path to being THE top PG in the game, look what he's done with Rondo. But he's going to need a training came and a preseason to do it.

But if the C's want to win this year, I think Rondo has to be the PG for THIS team. The Big 3 trust and love this guy. KG's head would be even further out there than it is now. And Rondo knows what Doc wants, doesn't have to look over his shoulder to see what plays to call. Westbrook would have to learn on the fly in this shorten season and gain the trust of Doc and the Big 3.

So the best move would be at the end of the season, get Westbrook give him a max, and then singing an other star would be easier.

Maybe if the season is tanking at deadline time and KG is not playing well DA pulls the Reboot trigger now and does some things.

Any good ideas that other teams would actually do????

I say keep it together for this year, but trying to build through the draft is a horrible idea. If we plan to keep Rondo and get a top 10 draft pick we won't be good. Rondo will be old and out of his prime when that player hits their prime and are ready for the big stage. The players that come in and  be effective at 20-21 are going top 5 and theres no way those teams trade their picks. We need to retool not rebuild.

I agree, build threw the draft wont work, not any more. very few players are ready right out of the gate like they use to be. Probably trading the picks for players that are going to bolt and don't want to pay is a route they will take.

Rondo on OKC puts that team as even more of a favorite to come out of the West (I have them as the favorite as is).  He runs a club a lot better than Westbrook, and the one thing Westy does that Rondo doesn't do, score, isn't really needed by OKC.

Rondo is appreciably better defensively too.  And considering the contract that Westbrook will be looking for, more affordable.  Presty should offer up Westbrook and Cole Aldrich for Rondo.  I wonder if Ainge would bite.

I absolutely love how Presti has put that team together.  He's got two quality PGS (Maynor could start for half the teams in the league) a great group of young wings, and four bigs that go after it every second on the floor.
