A quick glance at the minutes show only Rondo and Ray Allen (probably our most in shape players) well over 30 minutes a game with KG right at 30. JJ and Etwaun are our only players under 5 MPG. Everyone has at least 2 games played. I think "so far" Doc has done a pretty good job sticking with a minutes played game plan. He seems to have ABC groups. The starters, the bench, the rookies. I think he's been giving rest to the starters when needed but enough minutes to get in shape and a chance to win, allowing the bench to play, contribute and gel and be game ready to start if needed. And getting the rookies in when nothing is on the line. They're obviously last options but they have seen the floor at least a bit.
I think the minutes have been just about right so far this year. Yeah, he could have let the rookies get in earlier during our Detroit game but we needed the assurance of a win. I think if Doc sticks with this plan, it should work out well for us. Of course injuries and wins needed come into play and we have a tendency to veer off course as the season progresses. As it is now, I think Doc is on the right track.
