I'm relieved to see he still can play .  I stillthink it has to do with PP being on court ,  he draws attention to free up O'Neal and Paul fills in the defense rotation  , one that the rest of the team is used to seeing .

JO should have more left in him than KG.  He's younger and he's been injured so much that he doesn't have as much mileage as KG.

By this logic, Tmac and Grant hill should just be entering their prime lol

This is so wrong I don't even know where to begin other than telling you that you're so wrong you should feel bad about it.

well, TMac and Hill are still playing pretty well despite their age.  I'm sure having less mileage on their knees has something to do with that -- especially in Hill's case.

But what about the whole not having a good knee thing? Sure, players like Hill get lucky sometimes and continue to have a decent career, but the consequences of the bad knee outweigh the benefits of not having extended minutes.

I believe ONeal , PP and especially KG will take another 5-10 games to get back in NBA game shape to run the court and play their lockdown defense.

I hope we can grab the next game at the Wizards house , and that should put us back on the right track.  Lots of Celtics fans in that area..... ;D

probably shook off the rust from the previous 3 games, he needed this game to get some confidence back...

though I'm a bit disappointed in our 3rd string players, Johnson, Moore, Bradley didn't do anything...

Stiesma i am starting to like now

I'm guessing they played the last 3 minutes together and that was it? Never thought that was the way to get anything from new players, so I would ignore it. I'd like to see more play together with some of our main players, then we'll see if he has anything to offer us. But garbage time, particularly when played along with inexperienced players is ultimately useless.

I think you are both a bit wrong. First off any time is good time because now Doc has video to show them of what they did right and what they did wrong and the kids can use the video as a learning tool for getting knowledge on the system. This is extremely important in post high school teaching of any sport.

Second, I think they played well defensively. The Pistons were still playing rotation players and the rooks and Sasha were forcing them deep into the shot clock before finding a shot and some of those shots were made despite good defense. The rotations were a bit slow but they all seemed to be in the right spot and had good reaction times when the noticed what they were supposed to do. It just wasn't natural yet.

Offensively, they were awful. No hiding that. But offense can be generated from defense and once you have confidence offense tends to flow, so that will come.

JO played a little better last night so I am eatting my crow today.

I thought just the opposite lightspeed5, I thought they rotated horribly on some of the half court sets.  Johnson was especially bad at rotating.

JO played great, but I continue to worry about KG.  Seems like something is hurting him. He just can't get any lift. A shell of himself this early season. I doubt it is just conditioning related.

Not!

While I don't claim that one game against a bad Pistons team is evidence that JO is on his way to an All Star game, I do think tonight shows that a healthy JO can still be quite a good center.

While I don't think we'll see this every night, I also don't think this is a one time thing. He's younger than the Big Three and while he did come out of high school, he barely played his first 4 years.  And with his defensive skills and ability to score, he could prove to be the most well-rounded center we've had in the Big Three Era. Don't forget that unlike Shaq and Perk, he can hit free throws, so he can close out games for us.

Neither kg or Jo is done.
KG is not done as a player but KG is done being KG. Thats why every1 says he sucks. I do too.
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.
