I'm sure if New Jersey was going to trade Deron Williams, they could get a much more attractive package than Rondo and J.O.

Doubtful, not with his contract expiring.

At best trading Rondo for Deron Williams is a wash pts v. assists.  Rondo is a better defender than Deron Williams and can guard bigger players.

I just do not understand why the Celtics should trade Rondo?  His lack of scoring?  Well he is a point guard and normally point guards are not your leading scorers.

Just because Chris Paul and Deron Williams are better scorers does not make them better PGs or players.

I like Rondo, I think the Celts should keep him and try and add pieces around him.

How hard of a sale is it going to be for FA players when you tell them you have arguably the best passer in the NBA to feed them the ball for 82 games?  Pretty easy I would guess.

Man why does so many people on this site want Rondo traded so badly?

It's just sad! no matter what he does...he can't win with you guys :-(

I agree 100%.  I was opposed to the Chris Paul trades and am glad the deal fell apart.  Rondo has been our best and most consistent player all year.  People forget that past performance does not necessarily predict future performance.  Just because Paul and D. Williams were arguably better players than Rondo one or two years ago does not mean they will be better players this year or next.

I'm going to hop on the crazy train with this one.  Allow me to preface by professing my love for Rajon Rondo.

On top of the trade in this link, I'd envision a Boston first-rounder going to New Jersey and a New Jersey second-rounder going to Orlando.

This trade would only be made on the condition of Howard signing an extension.
