Pietrus knows what's most important.

Yeah and he looks healthy to me on these short videos, draining 3 after 3 (with his knees heavily braced though) :

look, i get that danny didnt have the best track record with injuries for shaq/kg

but, all evidence is they are being cautious with peitrus. they know his Knee swelled up about 2 weeks ago when he practiced for the raptors when that trade was denied. and he is someone we need for the long haul with green out.. so im not too leery

last thing we need is to rush him back and have his knee act up and miss more games

Don't forget, Danny also said that Green's issue was minor and not something of major concern.

well, originally thats what they thought that it was probably nothing. but further tests obviously confirmed it was something major.

for all we bash danny for getting injuries wrong, he said Perkins would return mid january...and he did just on time

and he said Delonte west would be out 3months..and he came back..just on time.

he said kg would be out 2-3 weeks with the strained calf last year...and KG came back just on time..

i wont be surprised at all if/when pietrus comes back within the next 2 weeks..but fans will never remember the injuries they got right

Good points Cman.  Like anything else, we remember what went wrong easier than we remember what went right.   For every misspeak, miscalculation, or diplomatic avoidance Danny makes, he needs 10 positives to make up for them.  He was off on Shaq's injury for sure, and he denies 'shopping' his players when we know he's actively out there pursuing, but his general dishonesty is exagerated.

And someone on another post said he should be used sparingly like House was.  This guy ( when healthy ) brings so much more to the table.  He and Bass will be 1st guys off the bench.

What, three 30-seconds reels and you're ready to play him 30 minutes a night? The point is, he isn't healthy. So he has to, and will be, used sparingly.

It's nice to think of someone other than Daniels spotting up in the corner.

I think the point of holding him out until mid-January is to make sure he's healthy, so he won't have to be used sparingly.

Either that, or he's really injured and can't play until 2 weeks from now. I guess we'll wait and see.

hes using 2 weeks to strengthen his knee so he doesnt have any setbacks apparantly..per peitrus himself

he looked pretty good nailing 3 pointers before yesterdays game.

30 minutes ?  That is our goal for our starters.  I am pretty sure that the plan for him is to be a key contributer off our bench. I would expect to seeing him play 15 to 25 minutes.  Figure last night Daniels played 22, Bass 22 and Sasha 14.  I say he takes all of Sasha's minutes and others here and there.

I think he'll take some of daniels minutes too...just because with dooling/peitrus you can really space the floor.

while we were very efficient in shooting 3s last year(thanks to Ray allen/pierce) we were below average in attempts. one thing im excitd to see is you could potentially have both pierce/allen on the bench with a lineup of Rondo/Dooling/Pietrus at the wings.

usually one of pierce/allen has had to stay out on the floor because we didnt have the 3pt shooters

I would expect him to be the primary wing, with Dooling and Daniels alternating at the back-up guard spots.

I personally don't feel like going after the top talents in the game equalizes "shopping Rondo", but that's just me.

cant wait to see this "scoring" lineup whenever we need a scoring/offensive bump or a game winning shot:

dooling
allen
pietrus
pierce
garnett/bass
