What are you doing??

It is not allowed to criticize his majesty Chris Paul on this blog... didn't you read the Forum Rules???
I heard that in 2012 the Celtics Logo will also be removed from the home page and replaced with a CP3 picture showing off some of his amaaaazing skills.
can't wait

It's safe to say at the early stage of the season, we have the best point guard in the league and yet we'll still manage to complain about him.

seriously?!  ur claiming we have the best pg, based on THREE games of stats.

Read his post again. He meant that Rondo has been the best pg so far.

No we don't because Rondo has not hit a game winning shot this season. Rose on the other hand has and was on the ESPN highlight reels and therefore he is by far the better player.

it is sarcasm.  it is crazy to make that statement based on only three games.  rondo is a top 5 pg in the nba imo, but to say he is #1 after only 3 games is laughable imo

Call me crazy, but I've been disappointed with Rondo's first three games and feel like it's kind of been confirmation that he's not ready to be a franchise guy.

He's had flashes of brilliance, and incredible quarters. Looking at the numbers it sounds crazy to critique him. But it seems to me like when the teams back is against the wall, when we absolutely need him the most - Rondo doesn't want to be the guy.

That's fine on a team with talent around, but pretty concerning for a guy a team might have to build around.

What Rondo needs to improve on is making defenses adjust to him, and when they adjust to him, exploit weaknesses. What he's done well this year so far is shooting the jumper they're giving him. When teams stop giving him that shot because he's being consistent, then the fun should really start with Rondo. But at the moment, teams are simply packing the middle, they try to contain penetration, but at the same time, our inside game also suffers because of it. So for the time being we need better use of our perimeter players, tired of seeing them wide-open and not get passes to help open up the floor both for himself and the big men.

Allen has been hitting a lot of threes, but most of them have been difficult off-balance, and contested shots. Let's see if we start finding him when he actually gets open, see better ball movement from everyone involved.

-TP. I don't even count that honestly. Rose has been taking way too many shots so far and hasn't gotten other players involved.

Looking at the first Clips games... it seems to me that ChrisPaul isn't that guy either.

The idea that a franchise building block player has to be a scorer in halfcourt on an iso play is a misguided one.

Uh, what? You really don't seem to be getting this. He didn't say Rondo is the best pg but that he has played better than the others in the last three games.

While I agree with this, I think the argument he was making was the Rondo has been too inconsistent to be a franchise guy...and I agree with that.

Rondo has a unique skillset that he can be a franchise player without being a go-to scorer (similar to someone like Dwight Howard in a way).  But, what is holding him back from making that jump is his inconsistency.

His good games are certainly good enough to be a franchise player, but true franchise players don't have games as bad as Rondo does, and certainly not as often as Rondo does.

The first two games were absolutely a good sign, but the NOH game was a huge step backwards.  He needs to raise his floor, so when he is bad, he is still much better.

There also seems to be a misguided notion that there can only be one franchise building block on the team.  Rondo's presence does not prevent us from adding someone who is more of a scorer.
