Pistons, Wizards twice, and the Nets. They then will likely lose 4 out of the next 5 -- Lose to the Pacers twice, the Bulls and OKC, and beat the Mavericks. that will make them 5-7 after 12 games.  Discuss.

Eh, definitely agree that losing any of the next 4 is a huge disappointment, but I see better things afterwards. We have 4 days off between the Pacers and the Mavs, so I see Doc playing playoff minutes against Indy knowing they can recover and still be ready to go full throttle to beat the Mavs. After that it gets a little dicey with Chicago, Indy and OKC all in 4 days, but then we get Toronto, Phoenix and Washington again without a back-to-back. We'll probably slip up here or there and it'd be nice to get one out of that 3-game stretch in 4 days, but I think 5-7 is lowballing (and we should win games 13-15).

Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey

I think we should win our next four regardless, however, the tough games after that will depend on if Pierce is back.

Not to mention our second game against Indy is on a back-to-back for both teams, the game against Dallas is the back-end of a back-to-back for them and off 4 days rest for us, and the Chicago game is near the end of a BRUTAL 7 games in 9 days stretch. That Bulls team is really going to be tested, holy lockout.

Have you seen the Pacers play yet this year? How good are you expecting them to be?

  Discuss.

I have just seen highlights. I expect the Pacers to either finish a game or two ahead or behind the Celtics.

He probably just read that idiotic Simmons tweet where he said he thought the Pacers could be a two seed following the Pacers HUGE (  ::) ) 5 pt win over the mighty Raptors.

The Pacers have looked like a 47-51 win caliber team (82games) to me.

They need a backup wing. Dahntay Jones doesn't cut it. That would move them firmly into the 50-53 win territory.

Ok so that means you think that us and Indiana are equal.  Yet a few posts ago you chalked an Indiana home game on a Friday night in which the Celtics will be favored (Pierce or no-Pierce) as an automatic loss.

That is what blogs are all about. Making predictions. Having fun. I think the Pacers will beat the Celtics twice. I hope I am wrong.

Wasn't much of a prediction.  Never read "I think" in the post.  You said it was 'likely' they'd lose to Indiana, Chicago, AND OKC all at home.  When, as I have correctly stated, it isnt' likely at all.  They very well could be favored in all those games.  At worst, a 2-3 pt dog against Chicago (who has not win a regular season game in Boston since 2007 btw) or OKC.

The Celtics could lose all those games.  But it would be, esp the Indiana game, and ESPECIALLY  if Pierce is back, an upset.  So it wouldn't be likely.  Nor are those games you just chalk up an L next to on the schedule (like most sane fans, including myself here on this board did, for the Miami game on Tuesday.)

Why is so many people overrating the Pacers? I mean sure they are a good team.. But thats it.
None of their Point Guards can stay in front of Rondo.
I dont think that we will be 5-7 either..
Jack of all trades, master of none.

So you're making predictions for the next 10 games, based on the 2 or 3 games that teams have played so far?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I am making predictions based on what I predicted for a final record this season. I predicted a 38-28 record. I think the Celts will get their act together after the first month of the season and beat up on all of the weak sisters and mediocre teams in the league. I think they will have some really good games and beat some really good teams. I also think the schedule is a disaster in terms of back-to-backs, in which they are horrendous on the second night. I initially thought they would be 6-6 after 12 and I now think they will be 5-7 because I think the Pacers will beat them twice.
