One ring ...sure is better than no championships. I had almost forgot what it was like since the Bird days.  And we were close to at least one other .  Exciting anyway...sad to see it end, but need to move on now and put PP on the bench and make a coach out or him and Ray

What bothers me now , is "MONEY" doen't seem to speak much to the best players anymore.

I guess the game is about off season lifestyle and not really about basketball anymore.

We have the best coach , best history, nice city

but no Kardashians ??? ???

I don't get attached anymore because Danny loses all the hustle, effort, dirty work, glue guys that play with a swagger (my kind of guys) and doesn't replace them.

2008:  Posey
2009:  Powe
2010:  Tony
2011:  Perk

UBUNTU!!!

This year we already know who we're going to miss the most.  A certain guy with a hanger and a sock.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm genuinely surprised that some fans think the trade wasn't "worth it".  22 years between titles is long enough; I'm surprised that some wanted to wait even longer.  We have had a solid four year run of title contention; isn't that the best case scenario of rebuilding?

As for becoming "too attached", I'm one of those fans who would rather watch three Hall of Famers in their twilight years, rather than trading them for a bunch of mediocre players and/or draft picks.  There's something to be said for Paul Pierce staying a career Celtic, or KG and Ray adding to their Celtics legacy.  What trade is Danny going to make that is going to put us solidly on the road back to a title?
I'm glad we had this four years. For the first time in my life, I actually have a team that I feel good cheering for. I hope KG and Ray can retire as Celtics. Some of the fans are a little ungrateful and I wouldn't trade them away for some average players that won't even put effort out.

Ungrateful fans huh! A fan is sort of a share holder. At the Annual Meeting they have the right to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and moan about what they do and don't like. For if it weren't for the fan there would be no Player. Call it simplistic but it would be an absolute fact. Players should be greeting us at the turnstiles thanking us. Too bad they aren't paid after a season. Yeah open the books, how many points, rebounds etc. Ask fans this,*Do you want us to run a Nursing Home here or clear the useless part of the bench* I could guarantee the response. At $80 a ticket and $5 beers I know they would settle for good entertainment. Go to a Museum to see collections. Above all don't make em Coaches. That's like going to a Doctor and saying just cut out this part of the infection.

Too bad cloning wasn't available when Red won 9 rings in 16 years. All of which I saw if televised.

Didn't Ainge look to trade Rondo?

Is that too attached?

And what is worth more to a rebuilding team, bad contracts and draft picks in the 20's or cap space and a terrible team (thus having a chance at the better picks to build up cheap assets again)?

If Ainge was getting good offers for KG, Ray, Pierce or Rondo, I have little doubt he would be afraid to pull the trigger.

Just remember, it is easy for fans to say "just trade the guys and be good now".  It is hard to actually pull that off.

I will take the 1 title a million times. Just to be there that night with my son when they beat the Lakers is something I will remember forever. If it wasn't for the trade, we would still be sitting here waiting for that title.

There won't be many ticket holders if Celtics resume the losing season nonsense.
