considering how JO has looked recently, this idea isn't crazy at all.
It's at the point it might would be crazy not to

Fixed  ;)

Starting line up needs to get younger and/or more athletic. JO is the most expendable starter so at this point I would be willing to try anything. The sooner the better so we can start building the chemistry.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Starting lineup needs to get younger next year. I say don't do anything for this year that will compromise the following years until the teams gives us good reason to do so.

If we are horrible, start fielding offers for Ray Allen, still a very valuable asset with his $10m deal.

JO is pathetic, but Doc wouldn't demote him for a D leaguer.  JO should be banged up soon, and that will give Doc the excuse to start Steamer.  He's a better defender than Semih right now, with a lot of upside as a defensive stopper.

Unless the marketing department has some kind of deal with Charmin, the Cs need to do something about their defense in the paint.  JO, with 13 fouls in 60 minutes, and almost no mobility, is a joke as a starting center.

JO was poor as a starting center when we faced Miami two seasons ago, and he seems like a worse player now.  Ugh. The question is if Ainge is still delusional enough to think a FA will want to sign here this summer, thereby not trading expiring JO for someone useful on a longer term deal.

He looked okay tonight, he still can't rebound though.  I guess that's the reason why he was a d-leaguer though.  If he could rebound the kid would probably be a Ben Wallace clone.
do it

JO had 6 boards in 21 minutes.  Stiemsma had 4 boards in 20 minutes.  JO had 2 points on .15% FG and Stiemsma had 2 points on  .50% FG.  JO had 1 block and Stiemsma had 6 blocks.

I think Stiemsma is still raw too.   He is a better help defender but a worse positional defender than JO, that will come with time and experience.  But he has one thing JO doesn't have and that is  springy legs and he tries to block everything.

Offensively, these guys are bad.  Many times Stiemsma was open last night and you saw the other guys not throw it to him.  They must not trust him on the offensive end.   JO rebounded offensively well but he doesn't go up very strong after the board.

The whole team shot poorly for the most part last night, except for Greg, Rondo, Ray, Sasha and JJ our guys were not shooting well.

Six blocks in 20 minutes is huge.  The kid's still learning, but that was significant defense in both effort and results.

Not sure what to make of him.

Had some really impressive weak side blocked shots but was fairly invisible defensively the rest of the time. Produced little on the boards or offensively although he does look a solid finisher around the rim.

Anyway, I'd like to see more of him. Get a better feel for what he has to offer. I hope Doc keeps in the rotation for a few games.

I'm with you. The help shot blocking was pretty impressive, but he was outplayed easily a couple of times when the Hornets posted his man. Also, unimpressed with the defensive rebounding  -- wasn't boxing out and didn't show any nose for the ball in traffic (all of his rebounds were of the long variety).

This being said, he's intriguing because he can contribute. Good to have someone like him as the 5th man in the rotation, and I have the feeling that we'll be seeing more of him.

occasional outbursts of good play...

uneven skills....

weak in some area such as over all defense...

no consistent offensive ability....

i know what to make of him....a bench player.   :D

and doc seems to agree right now.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

he deserves a shot with minutes, especially with JO being a bum and wilcox injured.  doesnt deserve to start as of now.

my idea would be to start kg at center and bass at the 4

O’Neal has played 60 minutes in three games and scored just eight points on 3-for-12 shooting. He grabbed six rebounds against the Hornets, which tripled his season total to nine.

I'm sorry but that is terrible. The only legitimate knock I've seen you guys post about steisma is that he isnt consistent and is not good a positional defense. Consistency and floor spacing comes with ON THE COURT EXPERIENCE.

KG can mask defensive lapses due to inexperience, and JO can anchor the bench defense. I think KG+Steisma and Bass+JO gives us a good mix of Offense and Defense on both units.
