Is Doc not going into our Bench enough?

I know we played the Knicks and Heat and we wanted these games but what's it gonna hurt playing E Twuan, JJJ, or Stiemsa some spot minutes?

I know it was just the preseason and we were playing the Raptors but I think they can play, it's not a bad idea throwing these guys out there in the fire to see what they can do. Our vets need the rest I see no sense in running them to the ground early. Do you really think Greg could be any worse than JO who looks 50 yrs old out there and does nothing. I would rather have E Twuan out there than Sasha depending on certain lineups.

Yes. He doesn't trust anyone except Bass apparently...maybe Bass reminds him of Baby. Last season he rode Baby and the Big Four a lot. I'd bet if it weren't for the refs Doc would play the starters even more.

I dont understand Moore not getting any time either.  I understand the first 2 games were pretty tight down the stretch, so you want to play experience, but I hope once we have a good lead on someone, Moore gets some time.  Everyone was asking "Why cant we get a player like Cole?" last night, and we dont even know if we have one yet or not.  We need to find out.

Games against the lesser teams int he league we need to be able to cut ray,paul,kg and JOs minutes in half. We beat the Raptors with the bench playing the entire second half. Twice.

I mean seriously Bass and Dooling are the only two worth anything.  Daniels looks lost and out of sorts.  Wilcox only has the stamina to play a couple of minutes at a time (he does ok in that time, but nothing special).  Pavlovic who is only starting while Pierce is out isn't being utilized properly (neither is O'Neal for that matter), perhaps when Sasha goes back to the bench he will be better utilized.  Bradley just isn't any good.  Johnson, Moore, and Stiemsma should all be in the D League. 

Bass and Dooling's great play has given me a bit of hope that when (or if) Pierce and Pietrus come back and are in form that the team will actually have a decent 8 man rotation.  Doesn't do much for the regular season but should be a decent playoff rotation.

I disagree about Marquis.  He didn't look great yesterday, but even with Pietrus coming back, he still might be the best 1-1, create-your-own offense player on the bench.  I don't think we can get away from that. 

Furthermore, he won't be asked to play against Wade and LeBron every night, and when he goes back to the 2, he'll likely be able to post a lot of smaller players.

I've said it befor and I say it again.  Doc is a great coach when it comes to Xs and Os. Having said that, Doc ranks at the bottom when it comes to sub management.  Absolutly the worst!!

I thought our bench has looked great.  This is the first time Doc has stopped with the ten man rotation and has integrated the bench in with the starters we usually complain about that all the time.  We can't have it both ways, saying he's not going to the bench enough and then complain about how he's playing his usual full second unit with no starters out there.

Let's wait to see what happens in the games where we are not playing the Heat and Knicks.  

I would like to think that he was overplaying the veterans in those two games to try to get a good start and steal one of those games.  

I still don't know if Johnson/Moore/Steimsma will play much, because I find it hard to believe they are ready, and know enough of the system.  But, I do expect backups to get a lot more run tonight than they have the last few nights (and if Wilcox is out, Johnson or Stiemsma (most likely Stiemsma, who looked more comfortable in the preseason, and is a better matchup against Okafor/Kaman) will have to play some.

Now, if KG and Ray play 35+ minutes again tonight, then I might start getting worried.

And quite honestly, that's the way it should be, This is not the year to see if we have a rookie that can do things. There will be plenty of time for that over the next few years. Now is the time to win and go for that last shot at a championship.

THAT is this team's philosophy and THAT is what all you guys screaming to see young players are just going to have to accept. This franchise won't be playing Moore and Johnson and Bradley much at all this year. This year is about a last grasp at immortality and the youngsters aren't going to be any help in that.

The bench with Pierce and Pietrus back will be nice.

Dooling and bass seem to be the go to guard and f/c backup with Quisy and Wilcox filling in the holes. And Pietrus will obviously help rest Pierce and with other combinations give some rest to KG and JO.

But ya I think JJJ, Moore, and maybe Steisma will see decent minutes tonight so we can rest ray KG and rondo.
